'Better A Life' Scholarship

Applicant must be a single parent between the ages of 17 and 25, who does not already have a bachelor's degree and will be attending an Oregon public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA and 3.0 GPA required (minimum 2650 GED score; minimum 2.5 GPA for college students).

 

Oregon Foundation for Blacktail Deer Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be enrolling in a public or nonprofit college or university in the state of Oregon and pursuing a major in biology, forestry, wildlife science or related fields. FAFSA required.

Applicant must be the dependent of an employee of Waste Control Systems, Inc., and its subsidiaries who has been employed for one or more years as of the application deadline.

 

Buerkle Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of a Jackson, Klamath, or Josephine County high school who will pursue a degree in english, journalism, math, music or physical education at a public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA required. Preference given to nontraditional students attending a college in Oregon with a 3.6 GPA or higher.

 

Jared Burchett Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Perrydale or West Salem High School who will enroll at least half time in a post-secondary program. FAFSA and original poem required.

 

Jeff Hull/Doug Johnson Memorial Music Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of Burns High School with a talent in instrumental or vocal music that will use their talent at a public or nonprofit college or university.

 

Anna and Dwight Gunther Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Harney County resident or a graduate of a Harney County high school who will enroll at least half time at a college or university. FAFSA and essay required.

 

Arlie Oster Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have resided in Harney County for five or more years, show a record of volunteer service to the community and enroll at least half-time in a college or university. Essay required.

 

Poteet Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Burns or Crane High School residing in Harney County, whose parents also reside in Harney County, and will attend a public or nonprofit college or university. Essay required.

 

Burrill Family Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of Butte Falls, Eagle Point, or Prospect High School who resides in Jackson County and will enroll at least half time at a public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA required. Preference given to Prospect High School students with a minimum 2.5 and maximum 3.5 GPA.

 

Candace Callan Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of a Lane County high school who will enroll at least half time in a trade or vocational program in Douglas, Lane, or Linn County. FAFSA and minimum 2.0 GPA required (2.5 for college students).

 

Dorothy Campbell Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating female senior from a high school in Oregon who will attend a four-year public or nonprofit college or university in Oregon. FAFSA, essay and minimum 2.75 GPA required. Preference given to to those who participated on a high school golf team, if available.

 

W. C. and Pearl Campbell Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Oregon. FAFSA and minimum 3.85 GPA and 1220 combined math and critical reading SAT scores (ACT composite of 27) required.

 

William Brent Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of Central Linn High School who will attend a public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA and minimum 2.5 GPA required for high school seniors.

 

Chafee Education and Training Grant

Award: $10,000, Deadline: Open

Applicant must currently be in foster care, or had been in foster care placement with the Oregon Department of Human Services (DHS) or one of the federally recognized Oregon Tribes for at least 180 days (six months) after the applicant's 14th birthday and exited substitute care at age 16 or older. Those awarded for the first time must be age 20 or under; past recipients may continue receiving awards until age 21. FAFSA required.

 

Chandler Scholars Program

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Baker, Crook, Curry, Deschutes, Harney, Jefferson or Union county in Oregon or Del Norte County in California who will attend a public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA, essay and minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Student Child Care Grant

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have one or more children who are legal dependents age 12 or under (not including the unborn). An otherwise eligible child who is a qualifying individual under the Americans with Disabilities Act will be exempt from the age requirement. FAFSA required.
