International High School Essay Contest

Award: $4,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a high school student who is currently enrolled in 9th through 12th grades attending public or private schools from the United States and abroad.

 

The Charles Crane Family Foundation Grant Program for Jewish Studies

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a high school graduate who is planning to spend a year pursuing post-secondary Judaic studies full-time in Israel, is already enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university who want to spend a semester or academic year engaging in Judaic studies at an institution in Israel, or who has declared a jewish studies major at any U.S. or Israeli college, university, yeshiva or seminary.

 

Stephen J. Brady STOP Hunger Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the United States who is able to demonstrate on-going commitment to their community by performing unpaid volunteer services impacting hunger in the United States at least within the 12 months.

 

America's 911 Foundation Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 17

Applicant must be a student whose parent is an Active Duty First Responder (EMS, fire, or police).

 

The Christopher Reeve Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 31

Applicant must be an extraordinary middle/high school student who has demonstrated tremendous compassion and caring in service to his or her community. Applicant must be nominated to receive the award.

 

BBG Communications Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be between the ages of 16 and 21 by June 30 who is currently in or will be attending an institution of higher education next fall.

 

Representative Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an Avon Representative in the United States who is a high school graduate planning to enroll in or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study leading to a degree or certificate at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States.

 

Patricia B. Dixon Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a graduate of a Philadelphia high school who will attend Community College of Philadelphia, or is currently attending with 24 or less credits completed, who exemplifies the spirit of volunteerism and will be enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours per semester. Essay, letter of recommendation and minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Little Rock Nine Foundation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be enrolled as high school senior for the current academic year who plans to attend an accredited college or university through graduation. Applicant must be willing to mentor another high school student.

 

From Failure to Promise Essay Contest

Award: $1,500, Deadline: July 31

Applicant must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate-level college student with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, pursuing or planning to pursue a degree at an accredited college or university in the United States. Essay on the topic of the book 'From Failure to Promise: An Uncommon Path to Professoriate' is required.

 

AlliedBarton Security Services Scholarship

Award: $7,600, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a first-time college student who resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and will enroll in the justice curriculum with a minimum of six credits per semester. Applicant must agree to a paid internship with AlliedBarton. Letter of recommendation, essay, and minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Dr. Edward Anderson Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 5

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who will attend Community College of Philadelphia, or a current student who has completed 15 or fewer credits, who will or is currently enrolled in a business program. Letter of recommendation and minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

CORE Philly Scholarships

Award: $3,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a School District of Philadelphia public, charter, archdiocese or private high school who is a resident of the city of Philadelphia and plans to pursue an associate's or bachelor's degree.

 

Diane and George Davis Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 4

Applicant must be a Philadelphia resident who has completed 24 or less credits at the Community College of Philadelphia, and will volunteer for a minimum of eight hours at the College per academic year if selected. Letter of recommendation and minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be planning to or currently attending Community College of Philadelphia full-time. Preference given to students who reside in the Point Breeze section of Philadelphia (ZIP codes 19145, 19146 and 19148). Two-page essay, two letters of recommendation and minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

Virginia Auctionners Association Scholarship

Applicant must be the son, daughter, step daughter, stepson, granddaughter, or grandson of a current active Auxiliary member in good standing for a period of five years. Applicant must be graduating from an accredited high school and be applying to an accredited college and/or have been accepted into a qualified college or university undergraduate study program or a school of higher education; or candidate must have completed the past year at a qualified college or university or school of higher education.

 

Keep the Drive High School Journalism Awards

Applicant must be a high school student between the ages of 13 and 18. Two methods of entry: write an article that is published by school newspaper or create a video segment in journalistic style written and produced by students and aired within the high school.

 

Healthy Lifestyles Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior or college freshman who is a resident of the United States or Canada. Response to two essay questions is required.
