Ethel T. and Charles T. Larus Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate from a school in Henderson County who shows strong academic standing and demonstrates financial need. Primary consideration granted to applicants in the top 15% of their secondary school class.

 

Mary Evelyn and Harry Laurent Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduating senior or a graduate of a public or private high school in Henderson County, NC. Applicant must be a candidate for an associate, bachelors, advanced, or professional degree from a fully-accredited college, university, technical institute, or community college. Minimum 3.8 GPA and demonstration of financial need are required. Preference will be given to full-time students; part-time students will be considered.

 

Hilary G. Neighbors Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate from a Henderson County public school who is a native of Henderson County. Minimum 3.8 GPA, minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1850, and financial need are required.

 

George and Helen Stowell Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a Henderson County public high school who is a native of Henderson County. Minimum 3.8 GPA, minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1850, and demonstration of financial need and extracurricular activities are required.

 

Kenneth R. and Virginia M. Stull Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a Henderson County resident who is a graduating senior or graduate of a public, parochial, or private school in Henderson County. Applicant must be planning to attend or be attending a four-year accredited college or university. Financial need, civic involvement, and minimum 3.0 GPA are required.

 

Winifred M. Wyman Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate of a Henderson County public school who wishes to pursue their education at an accredited college or university. Applicant must be able to show academic potential, motivation, and have set goals for their future. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

William C. Armstrong Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate from a public high school in Henderson County who will be attending a post-high school institution, pursuing a career in conservation and wildlife or related studies. Minimum 2.0 GPA and financial need required.

 

David H. and Betty R. Bucher Engineering Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduating senior of any Henderson County public, private, or parochial high school who has been accepted to an accredited degree-granting college or university and is actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of engineering. Minimum 3.5 GPA and involvement in extracurricular and community service activities are required.

 

David H. and Betty R. Bucher Nursing Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduating senior of any Henderson County public, private, or parochial high school who has been accepted to an accredited degree-granting college or university and is actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of nursing. Involvement in extracurricular and community service activities are required.

 

John T. Coates IV, Civil Engineering Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate of any public Henderson County high school who is planning to pursue a career in civil engineering at North Carolina State University. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Maggie Trimble Cook Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a female graduate or any Henderson County high school who is preparing for a career in nursing, home economics, or math. Minimum 2.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

H. Louise Eaton Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate of a public high school in Henderson County who plans to pursue an education in preparation for teaching in secondary schools. Minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Grace B. Etheredge Scholarship for BRCC

Award: $750, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate from a school in Henderson County who plans to attend Blue Ridge Community College. Selection based upon financial need, character, leadership ability, and participation in extra-curricular activities.

Award: $1,250, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate of any Henderson County high school who plans to pursue a degree to teach physical science or mathematics in public secondary schools. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Haddy Harrington Memorial Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate from a Henderson County high school who plans to continue their education and study art or writing. Financial need is required.

Applicant must be a graduating senior or graduate of a high school in Henderson County who is pursuing or plans to pursue a degree in Christian education or related studies. Minimum 2.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Frederick E. and Mary Meyer Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior or a graduate or a public or private high school in Henderson County who is currently pursuing or plans to pursue a degree to become a registered nurse. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Vena Case Robinson Memorial Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Henderson County public high school who plans to major in elementary education. Preference will be given to applicants who attended Dana Elementary School.

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a Henderson County public high school who is a native of Henderson County. Applicant must be planning to pursue a career in a health related field (other than physician). Selection based on merit (minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1000). Extracurricular involvement and financial need are required.

 

Mack Broutin Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate of Hendersonville High School who participated in one or more interscholastic high school sports. Preference will be given to applicants who played football. Minimum 2.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Lucile V. Means Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be an African-American student who is graduating from Hendersonville High School and has plans to pursue a college education. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Bree Elizabeth Miller Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate of Hendersonville High School who plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university. Preference will be given to applicants who are pursuing a degree in English or international studies, though others will be considered. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need are required.

Applicant must be a minority student who is a graduating senior or graduate of a public, parochial, or private high school in Henderson County, planning to pursue or currently pursuing a college education. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

Applicant must be a graduating senior or a graduate of a public high school in Henderson County who has participated in at least one interscholastic high school sport. Minimum 2.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Dr. Corbin O. Williams Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Hendersonville High School or the equivalent who has been accepted to and plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Demonstration of high academic standards, leadership abilities, and exhibition of high levels of interpersonal compatibility are required.

 

Lula and Levi Wilson Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be an African-American student graduating from a Henderson County public high school who plans to pursue a college education. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Tom Wilson Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduating senior of Hendersonville High School. Minimum 3.0 GPA, financial need, and demonstration of involvement in extracurricular activities are required.

 

Achievement Scholarship for Refugees and Immigrants of Wake County

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a resident of Wake County, NC, who is a first-generation U.S. citizen, refugee, or immigrant planning to pursue a two- or four-year degree as a full-time student at an accredited public, private, or technical college or university in the state of North Carolina. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Angello/Chesson Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Rocky Mount Senior High School who will be attending a college, university, or community college.

 

Carol Ann Beerstecher Nursing Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a resident of Chatham, Durham, Orange, Wake, or Pearson County, NC, who is a current nursing student at a public institution or have been admitted to a nursing program at a public institution in North Carolina offering an associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing. Minimum 2.0 GPA and financial need are required.
