Scholarships in College Senior

Charles & Lucille King Family Foundation Scholarship

Award: $7,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a full-time film or television major who is about to enter their junior or senior year in a degree-granting program at a four-year college or university in the United States.

 

B.S.Nurs. Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: July 1

Applicant must be a nurse working towards a B.S.N. degree who is a member/involved with the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.

 

Music Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: None

Selection is based upon audition of a performance of two compositions or movements.

 

Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: December

Selection is based upon math and lab science tests. Finalists will be invited to interview.

 

National Merit Finalist Scholarship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who selects the University of St. Thomas as their first choice institution.

 

Federal Stafford Loans

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a resident of North Carolina or attending a school in North Carolina.

 

Federal Plus Loan

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be the parent of a dependent student and be a resident of North Carolina, unless the benefiting student is attending an eligible school in North Carolina.

 

ASGC Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon essay, letters of recommendation, resume, standardized test scores, and transcript.

 

Future Business Leaders of America Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must participate in the Future Business Leaders of America.

 

Student Publication/Leadership Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: July 1

Applicant must demonstrate skills in production, editing, writing, or design of student publications. Selection based on portfolio sample, letter of recommendation, and participation in student government, peer counseling, prefects, civic organizations, or club activities.

 

Thurgood Marshall Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be pursuing a bachelors degree in criminal justice or a closely related criminal justice field.

 

Sussman-Miller Educational Assistance Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 23 (for students who will attend out-of-state schools or in-state private schools); June 26 (for students who will attend New Mexico in-state state public schools)

Applicant must be a resident of New Mexico with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA or 2.5 college GPA. Resume, statement of goals and unusual circumstances, official transcripts, academy references, and proof of financial need are required to be submitted.

 

New Hampshire Society of CPAs Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: November 30

Applicant must be a New Hampshire resident who is a college senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in accounting or business.

 

Bachelor's Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an R.N. with an interest in and a commitment to oncology nursing.

 

Laura E. Settle Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 2

 

Children of Alumni Scholarship

Award: $2,300, Deadline: January

Parent or guardian must be an active member of USA Alumni Association. Applicant must have completed 20 hours at the USA. Academics, activities and leadership are considered.

 

Basil Boritzki Achievement Scholarship

Award: $2,100, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be an active member of Alpha Rho Chapter of Sigma Pi Fraternity.

 

Ralph and Elva Harmon Scholarship

Award: $2,300, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be enrolled full-time in the College of Arts and Letters or the College of Humanities and Public Affairs. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.

 

John A. Walker Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 3

Applicant must submit transcript. Selection is based upon GPA, standardized test scores, class rank, extracurricular activities, and evidence of leadership and maturity.

 

Dr. Ben Webb Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a from Scioto or Pike counties in Ohio, or Greenup County, Kentucky. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be recommended by teacher education faculty. Financial need is considered. FAFSA must be completed.

 

Clara A. Daehler Memorial Scholarship

Award: $700, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be of good academic standing, enrolled in piano or chorus courses. Financial need is considered.

 

Edward J. Daehler Memorial Scholarship

Award: $700, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be entering the second year of a two-year program or the fourth year of a four-year program with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Financial need is considered.

 

Thomas B. Reynolds Memorial Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: January 15

Applicant with highest GPA is given preference. Community involvement is considered.

 

Merit Award

Selection based upon academic performance.

 

Technology Scholarship

Supplemental Education Grant (SEG)

Award: $250, Deadline: Varies

Applicant must be a U.S. Coast Guard service member, employer, or member of a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Applicant may apply on behalf of self, spouse, or dependent children.

 

Bill Reed Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 29

Applicant must be an African-American and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Preference given to business and computer science majors.

 

Mathematics Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.7 GPA in math and show an interest in math-related activities throughout his or her four years of high school.

 

Decommissioning, Decontamination, and Reutilization Division Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent resident visa, be enrolled in an engineering or science discipline associated with decommissioning/decontamination of nuclear facilities or management/characterization of nuclear waste or restoration of the environment. Applicant must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee member or organization member.

 

Moody Research Grants

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15 (June through December); September 15 (January through August)

Applicant must submit proposal stating how Library holdings will contribute to the completion of his or her project. Grants may be used for research for dissertations, theses, senior papers, publications, and other projects. Recipient must agree that the product of their research will not be used for political purposes and a copy will be provided to the LBJ Foundation.
