Applicants at the collegiate level must be eligible college women's basketball players whose coaches are members of the WBCA. Applicants at the high school level must be seniors. Selection at all levels is based on current season statistics and achievements, impact on the team, team success, sportsmanship and academic eligibility.

Applicants must maintain a New Jersey U.S. Figure Skating club as their home club and have competed in U.S. Figure Skating qualifying competitions for two years for a senior scholarship and one year for a junior scholarship. Selection is based on skating achievement in the disciplines of freestyle, pairs and dance in relation to the skater's age, progress and attitude.

Applicants must have studied for at least five years one or more of the Chinese martial arts including Kung Fu, Wu Shu or Tai Chi. Selection is based on achievement in academics and martial arts, recommendations, work experience, educational and career goals and leadership in school and community activities.

Selection is based on the originality and feasibility of the proposed work to be performed in a foreign country to promote UNESCO mandates. Applicants must be students in high school through the post-graduate level. Selection is based on the Bluetooth project and application or prototype submitted. Judges will consider whether the project utilizes Bluetooth technology, the application meets an end user need, the application and demo script are well written and organized and the user interface is intuitive.
