Selection is based upon creativity and innovation, specific awareness of and attention to costume matters, impact on the broad field of costume, awareness of interdisciplinarity of the field, ability to successfully implement the proposed project in a timely manner, and faculty advisor recommendation.

Award provides money for research that will advance the practice of emergency nursing. Applicant must be a registered nurse, have a master's degree, and submit typewritten application form, biographical sketch, budget, research abstract and proposal, data about mentors/preceptors/consultants, support letters, and signed research agreement. Selection is based upon researcher qualifications and quality of research proposal. Preference is given to studies relating to the ENA/ENA Foundation Research Initiatives.

The grant recipient is required to submit a report of his/her investigation to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation. Applicant must request guidelines and forms to prepare an application. Master's level students must be enrolled in or accepted to a program ccredited by te American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Council on Academic Accreditation.

Preference given to an arthritis-related dissertation project. Applicant must be a member of his or her professional organization. Award is for non-laboratory research and is to be used for a salary stipend or research support. Applications will be available May 1.
