CERT Scholars Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: September 15 (fall); February 15 (spring)

Applicant must be a member of an American Indian tribe and must have successfully completed a high school summer transition program offered by CERT or a tribal internship program. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate (12 hours/semester) or graduate (9 hours/semester) student enrolled at an accredited two or four year tribal, private, or public university or college.

 

Presidential Tuition Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, be an undergraduate working toward first bachelor's degree, have completed at least 56 credit hours at an accredited institution, have a minimum 2.3 GPA, be eligible for financial aid with an annual family income of $12,000 or less or annual single income of $19,000 or less, and be one of the following: educationally and economically disadvantaged and member of a minority that has been historically underrepresented in colleges, a single parent with demonstrated financial need, or certifiably handicapped with demonstrated financial need.

 

Transfer Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: August 15

Applicant must have completed at least 24 semester hours and have a minimum 3.0 GPA; minimum 3.5 GPA required for $4,000 award.

 

Ashby B. Carter Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be the child or legal dependent of a NAPFE member.

 

James A. Rawley Prize

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 1

Awarded for book dealing with the history of race relations in the U.S.

 

1989 Ecole Polytechnique Commemorative Award

Award: $7,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a woman who is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrate in a graduate studies program in any field. Applicant must be able to justify the relevance of her work to women.

 

Educational Foundation of the KYCPA Scholarships

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be enrolled in a Kentucky college or university and be at least a sophomore at the time of application. Principles of Accounting must have been completed by applicant.

 

IAESTE United States Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 1

Applicant must be accepted to the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience program.

 

Stacey Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is a high school graduate between the ages 18 and 35.

 

Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student Award

Award: $6,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a junior in an Iowa high school or home school program who plans to attend a two- or four-year college or university. Selection is based upon project proposals and letters of recommendation. Approximately 15 juniors are chosen to participate and then complete their projects over the summer between their junior and senior year. In the fall of their senior year they make presentations about their projects at the Hoover Presidential Library Museum in West Branch, Iowa. Recipients must attend an expense-paid weekend in June at the Hoover Historical Complex in West Branch and presentation day in October.

 

THV Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Windham County, VT or Reasboro or Searsburg, VT. Financial need and school/community involvement must be demonstrated.

 

Mt. Emmons Scholarship

Award: $17,565, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student with a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1300 (composite ACT score of 29) and minimum 3.7 GPA. Selection will be based upon SAT Reasoning/ACT scores, GPA, essay, and a history of participation and leadership in extracurricular activities and community service, as well as letters of recommendation. NCAA Division III regulations prohibit the consideration of high school athletic ability, participation, leadership or performance in awarding scholarships.

 

Graduate Student Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: June 18

Applicant must be a full-time graduate student. Selection is based upon academic promise and outstanding academic achievement. One scholarship gives priority to foreign or minority students studying in the continental U.S.; another gives priority to disabled students; and another gives priority to a minority student. Master's level students must be enrolled in or accepted to a program ccredited by te American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Council on Academic Accreditation.

 

Bailey Scholarship

Award: $13,000, Deadline: None

Selection is based upon standardized test scores and cumulative GPA. Applicant must be enrolled full-time in a traditional degree program.

 

Postdoctoral Fellowship

Award: $100,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must hold a D.O., D.V.M., M.D., or Ph.D. Competitive award renewal application after two years.

 

Phi Kappa Sigma Foundation Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must meet academic qualifications, have civic involvement and organizational affiliation, experience, financial need.

 

Music Scholarship for Mature Women

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 1

Applicant must be a female U.S. citizen age 35 or over and must submit background and one or two scores of musical composition. Each score should have a performance time of 10-18 minutes. Compositions should not have previously won an award.

Mathematics Scholarship

Pre-registration is required. Selection is based upon performance on a competitive math exam.

 

Advanced Russian Language and Area Studies Fellowship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: March 1 (summer); October 15 (spring)

Awarded to undergraduate and graduate students to study in Moscow, St. Petersburg or Vladimir.

 

Millhollon Educational Trust Loan

Award: $30,000, Deadline: July 1 (fall); January 2 (spring)

Applicant must be a Texas resident attending a Texas school who is 25 years old or younger. Financial need must be demonstrated and interview is required.

 

Spelman College Endowed Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: April 15

 

Samuel Huntington Public Service Award

Award: $15,000, Deadline: January 18

Applicant must be a graduating college senior who is looking to pursue one year of public service anywhere in the world immediately following graduation. Applicant is encouraged to develop their own proposals either alone or working with established organizations.

 

AFSA/AAFSW Merit Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a dependent of a U.S. government Foreign Service employee (active or retired). Membership in the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) or the Association of American Foreign Service Women (AAFSW) is required.

Joseph M. Cataldo, S.J. Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, submit a one page essay and one letter of recommendation.

 

Maine State Society of Washington D.C. Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be under age 25, have been born in or have been a legal resident of the state of Maine for at least four years or have at least one parent who was born in or who has been a legal resident for at least four years, and be enrolled for a minimum of 12 semester hours at a four-year nonprofit college or university in Maine. Applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA and submit a "student copy" of college transcript and a handwritten composition (500-word maximum) containing background information on applicant's qualifications for scholarship. SASE required. Award may only be used at Maine colleges and universities.

 

Fox River Valley Chapter Charles H. Bennett Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of a high school in the Fox River Valley Chapter region.

 

Brooklyn College Foundation Presidential Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must have a minimum 90 GPA, and a minimum 1200 SAT score. Selection is based upon academic merit.

 

Procassini Honor Scholarship
