The Earl G. Graves Scholarship

Applicant must be a junior or senior business major enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States; or a graduate student enrolled or accepted to a master's or doctoral program within a Business school at an accredited college or university in the United States (applicant may apply during their sophomore year). Applicant must currently be a full-time student in good academic standing and making satisfactory progress toward an undergraduate or graduate degree. Financial need is not required. Members of the National NAACP Board of Directors, SCF Trustees, National Youth Work Committe, the NAACP Scholarship Selection Committee, employees and their spouses or families to the first degree of consanguinity are not eligible to apply for or receive this scholarship. Three letters of recommendation (other than relatives): one personal reference, two academic references from the business school of the accredited college (academic letters must be on official letterhead); recent official college transcript, evidence of full-time enrollment, and one page essay required.

 

The Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship

Applicant must be a current NAACP member, a U.S. citizen, under the age of 25 and must demonstrate financial need. Undergraduate students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA; graduate students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled full- or part-time.

 

The HBCU Scholarship Fund

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a current student or incoming freshman at a Historically Black College or University. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and apply to be accepted at an accredited college (excluding proprietary schools) in the United States. Applicant must be a full-time student. If a student drops below the required full-time status, the Scholarship Selection Committee will adjust the grant received to 50% of the award allocated for that semester. Applicants must posess a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (C+) on a 4.0 system. NAACP membership and participation is highly desirable. Applicant must demonstrate financial need. Members of the National NAACP Board of Directors, SCF Trustees, National Youth Work Committee, the NAACP Scholarship Selection Committe, employees and their spouses or families to the first degree of consanguinity are not eligible to apply for or receive this scholarship.Please submit the following with your completed typed application: Three letters of recommendation (other than relatives):One personal reference, one academic reference and one NAACP reference. NAACP membership and participation is highly desirable. Undergraduate applicants must be full-time students. Banatao Filipino American Education Fund College Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 20

Applicant must be a current high school senior who is at least half Filipino and a resident of one of the following California counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Los Angeles, Marin, Merced, Monterey, Napa, Orange, Sacramento, San Benito, San Diego, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Solano, Sonoma, or Stanislaus. Applicant must be planning to attend a four-year college or university and major in engineering, mathematics, computer science, environmental science, or a physical science. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Carlos M. Castaneda Journalism Scholarship

Applicant must be a Spanish-speaking journalist or journalism student who is proficient in the Spanish language and who is able to write in that language at a professional level. Candidate must also demonstrate a sincere desire to pursue a career in the field of journalism in Spanish, have knowledge and interest for Hispanic culture and be up-to-date on current events in Latin America. A second year scholarship may be granted after viewing the recipient's grade point average, general performance, and recommendations of his/her professors.

 

Carnegie Communications $10,000 Scholarship
