Applicants must be either entering or less than half-way through an accredited graduate school program in a field relevant to library science and be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents.

 

University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Applicant must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. MLA Scholarship for Minority Students

Award: $5,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicants must be African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American or Pacific Islander and entering or currently attending an ALA-accredited library school and be no more than halfway through the program. Applicants must also be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Canada.

 

University of Florida Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

The Florida Incentive Scholarship Program is a merit scholarship for Florida high school graduates who receive recognition as a National Merit or National Achievement Scholars. Applicants must earn a standard Florida high school diploma; be a National Merit Finalist or National Achievement Finalist; enroll at an eligible Florida postsecondary institution; be a Florida resident; and enroll full-time (minimum 12 credit hours per term or quarter equivalency) in a baccalaureate degree program.

Annual NBNA Scholarships

Award: $6,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicants must be African Americans currently enrolled in a nursing program and be in good academic standing, be members of the NBNA, be members of a local chapter and have at least a full year of school remaining. Applicants must submit with their application an essay, references, an official transcript and evidence of participation in student nurse activities and involvement in the African American community.

 

University of Miami Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

The Florida Incentive Scholarship Program is a merit scholarship for Florida high school graduates who receive recognition as a National Merit or National Achievement Scholars. Applicants must earn a standard Florida high school diploma; be a National Merit Finalist or National Achievement Finalist; enroll at an eligible Florida postsecondary institution; be a Florida resident; and enroll full-time (minimum 12 credit hours per term or quarter equivalency) in a baccalaureate degree program.

 

NHSC Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: May 7

Applicants must be enrolled or accepted into allopathic or osteopathic medical schools, family nurse practitioner programs, nurse-midwifery programs, physician assistant programs or dental school. Upon completion of training, scholars must choose practice sites in federally designated health professional shortage areas for one year for each year of support received.

 

University of Rochester - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

NPPF Television News Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 6

Applicants must be full-time juniors or seniors at a four-year college or university, provide a portfolio and demonstrate financial need. Applicants must also have courses in TV news photojournalism and continue in this program towards a bachelor's degree. Applicants can apply to as many NPPA scholarships as desired, but only one award will be granted per winner.

 

University of South Florida Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

The Florida Incentive Scholarship Program is a merit scholarship for Florida high school graduates who receive recognition as a National Merit or National Achievement Scholars. Applicants must earn a standard Florida high school diploma; be a National Merit Finalist or National Achievement Finalist; enroll at an eligible Florida postsecondary institution; be a Florida resident; and enroll full-time (minimum 12 credit hours per term or quarter equivalency) in a baccalaureate degree program.

 

Dr. Aura-Lee A. and James Hobbs Pittenger American History Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 10

Applicants must be high school seniors or college undergraduates planning to major in American history and American government. A minimum 3.25 GPA is required. The award is up to $2,000 each year for up to four years. All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter. However, affiliation with DAR is not required.

 

University of St. Thomas - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of St. Thomas as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and attend an accredited school of nursing. All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter. However, no affiliation with DAR is necessary.

 

Eckerd College Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

Applicants must be college juniors or seniors majoring in political science, history, government or economics. All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter. However, affiliation with DAR is not required.

 

Sewanee: The University of the South - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated Sewanee: The University of the South as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship

Applicants must desire to attend or be attending an accredited school of nursing. Students must be members, descendants of members or eligible for membership in NSDAR. The DAR member number must be submitted on the application.

 

University of West Florida Incentive Scholarship Program

Lynn University Incentive Scholarship Program

John Kelly Labor Studies Scholarship Fund

Award: $3,250, Deadline: March 31

Applicants must be members of OPEIU in good standing or associate members for at least two years, and applicants must be either undergraduate or graduate students in one of the following areas of study: labor studies, industrial relations, union leadership and administration or non-degree programs sponsored by the National Labor College at the George Meany Center or similar institution. The selections shall be based on recommendations of an academic scholarship committee.

 

Medical University of South Carolina - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated Medical University of South Carolina as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Applicant must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. Delta Faucet Company Scholarships

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicants must be students who are currently enrolled or plan to be enrolled in a p-h-c-related major at an accredited four-year college or university or two-year technical college, community college or trade school. Apprentice program students must also be working full-time for a licensed plumbing or HVAC contractor who is a member of the PHCC. Two $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in either a PHCC-approved apprentice program or a full-time certificate or degree program at an accredited two-year community college, technical college or trade school. Four $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited four-year college or university.

 

Florida Institute of Technology Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

The Florida Incentive Scholarship Program is a merit scholarship for Florida high school graduates who receive recognition as a National Merit or National Achievement Scholars. Applicants must earn a standard Florida high school diploma; be a National Merit Finalist or National Achievement Finalist; enroll at an eligible Florida postsecondary institution; be a Florida resident; and enroll full-time (minimum 12 credit hours per term or quarter equivalency) in a baccalaureate degree program.

 

PHCC Educational Foundation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicants must be currently enrolled or plan to enroll in a p-h-c-related major at an accredited four-year college or university or two-year technical college, community college or trade school. Students enrolled in an approved apprentice program must also be working full-time for a licensed plumbing or HVACR contractor who is a member of the PHCC. Two scholarships will be awarded to students who are enrolled in either a PHCC-approved apprentice program or a full-time certificate or degree program at an accredited two-year community college, technical college or trade school. Three scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited four-year college or university.

 

University of South Carolina - Beaufort - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of South Carolina - Beaufort as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Applicant must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. Applicant must also be a citizen of the United States or be a U.S. lawful permanent resident.

 

Presbyterian Church USA Student Opportunity Scholarships

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicants must be members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) who have completed their second year of college. They must be enrolled full-time and have a GPA of 2.5 or greater. Students must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in education, health service/science, religious studies, sacred music or social service/sciences. Financial need is required. Preference is given to members of racial and ethnic minorities.
