Service Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate exceptional record of leadership and service participation.

 

Honors College Fellowship

Award: $12,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.8 secondary school GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 32 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1400).

 

Honors College Academy Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 15

For consideration, applicant must be an Arkansas resident from a geographically under-represented area with a minimum 28 ACT (1240 SAT) and 3.5 GPA.

 

Silas Hunt Distinguished Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant should have a 3.5 high school GPA or higher. Accepted students from under-represented communities who have demonstrated outstanding academic leadership qualities and potential. Under-represented communities include, but are not limited to, under-represented ethnic or minority groups, a student with an interest in a field of study that does not typically attract members of his/her ethnicity or gender, residence in an under-represented county in Arkansas, or a first generation college student.

 

Non-Resident Tuition Award for Transfer Students from Neighboring States

Applicant must be a transfer student with a 3.0 college GPA and a minimum of either 24, 48, or 72 credit hours for sophomore status, junior status, or for senior status, respectively.

 

University - Wide Private Scholarships for Entering Freshman

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must provide high school GPA, National Test Scores, curriculum strength, class rank if available, leadership, community service, essay, other personal characteristics such as hometown, high school, major, and financial need.

 

University - Wide Private Scholarships for Current UA Students

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must provide school GPA, letters of recommendation, campus activities, work history, community service, and essays. Some scholarships are based on financial need, hometown, parents alumni status, physical impairment, major, ethnicity, and/or moral character.

 

Trustee Scholarship

Selection is based upon academic record and standardized test scores. Awarded upon enrollment into the university.

 

National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who listed the University of Puget Sound as their first college of choice.

 

Music Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 15 (priority)

Applicant must plan to participate in musical activities and groups. Audition or taped performance required.

 

Art Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be planning to major in the visual arts or art history.

 

Theatre Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 8

Applicant must plan to participate in theatre productions. Audition or taped performance required.

 

Forensics Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must plan to compete in intercollegiate speech and debate events.

 

Catharine Gould Chism Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman who has demonstrated leadership abilities and has the intent to major in the arts or humanities.

 

Leonard Howarth Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman or transfer student who is interested in majoring in biology, chemistry, computer science, geology, mathematics, pre-engineering, or physics.

 

Religious Leadership Award

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be interested in lifelong religious leadership, including both ordained and lay ministry, professional work in faith community, music leadership, and the range of missionary service and outreach activities.

 

Walter Price Leadership/Community Service Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman or transfer student. Selection is based upon leadership ability and community service involvement.

 

Off To College Scholarship Sweepstakes

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 12

Applicant must be a high school senior planning to attend college or a current college student who will be continuing their undergraduate studies this fall. Applicant must live in one of the following states: Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia.

 

Community Service Scholarship for Multicultural Students

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be from a multicultural background who will be a college freshman beginning in the fall. Application and essay about their community service involvement are required; the essay should not exceed 1,000 words. Selection based upon academic merit (as reflected in transcript, class rank, and GPA) and service to their community.

 

AL Muammar Scholarship For Journalism

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must have a commitment to the field of journalism as well as sensitivity to Arab American issues. Community involvement and initiative in social advocacy and civic empowerment required. Applicant must demonstrate journalistic and academic ability as well as financial need.

 

Smith College School For Social Work Scholarship for Military Personnel

Award: -, Deadline: January 5

Applicant must be in active duty, a veteran or retired, and may be affiliated with any branch of the military, including the Coast Guard, National Guard and Reserves. (Please submit a copy of your ID card and DD214 with your application materials.) Applicant must have completed their bachelor's degree or be in the process of completing their bachelor's degree, which must be awarded prior to matriculation into the program. Applicant must have a commitment to serving the mental health issues of military personnel and their dependents upon graduation. All application materials must be submitted no later than Early Admission deadline date of January 5.

Howard J. Burnett Presidential Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time student who is involved in a degree-seeking program, and abides by the regulations governing college life. Selection is based upon academic qualifications, civic involvement, employment or organizational affiliation, essay, experience, letters of recommendation, student activities, and talents. Awards are based upon the recommendation of the Vice President of Enrollment and Director of Admission.

 

W&J Scholars Award

Applicant must be a full-time student who is involved in a degree-seeking program, and who abides by the regulations governing college life. Selection is based upon academic qualifications, civic involvement, employment or organizational affiliation, essay, experience, letters of recommendation, student activities, and talents. DOE Office of Science Graduate Fellowship Program

Applicant must be an outstanding student pursuing graduate training in basic research areas of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computer/computational sciences, or environmental sciences relevant to the Office of Science.

 

Ferrous Metallurgy Education Today (FeMET) Scholarship

Two letters of recommendation, NAFTA, resume, essay, and transcripts are required to be submitted.

 

LIFE Lessons Scholarship Program

Award: $15,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a high school senior or college student who is a legal resident of the United States between the ages of 17 and 24 and is currently enrolled in, or has been accepted to a college, university, or trade school. Applicant must have experience the death of a parent or legal guardian. A 500-word essay or three-minute video describing how the loss of the parent/guardian has affected them emotionally and financially is required.
