Rehabilitation Corp. of Tennessee Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a Tennessee resident from a rural area with an agricultural background. Selection is based upon background activities, financial need, and sincere desire to work.

 

King and Johnson Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a high school graduate and resident of Tennessee, show promise in architecture, and demonstrate financial need. Award includes internship employment with King and Johnson Architects, Inc.

 

Randall K. Nutt Engineering Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 23. Primary consideration is given to graduates of Farragut High School, Hohenwald High School, or Ooltewah High School, with other Tennessee residents secondary. Priority is given to applicants with financial need, without other aid, and those interested in electrical or computer engineering.

 

Tennessee Higher Education Commission Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a minority with a minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 19 (combined SAT I score of 750).

 

Pilot Oil Corp. Minority Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a full-time, minority undergraduate. Preference is given, in the following order, to residents of Knoxville area, Tenn., East Tennessee area, elsewhere in Tennessee, southeastern U.S., or other region.

 

University President's Club Non-Resident Scholarship

Applicant must be a non-resident high school senior who will be an entering freshman. Selection will be based upon GPA and ACT/SAT scores, as well as proven leadership abilities, activities, and accomplishments.

 

Non-Resident Academic Full Tuition Scholarship

Applicant must be a nonresident of Utah. Selection is based upon GPA, test scores, leadership, activities, and accomplishments.

Applicant must be a high school senior who will be an entering freshman and who is not a resident of Utah. Selection is based upon scholastic record.

 

Eagle Scout Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a registered, active member of a Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew chartered to an American Legion Post, Auxiliary Unit or Sons of The American Legion Squadron. Or, be a registered, active member of a duly chartered Boy Scout Troop, Varsity Scout Team, or Venturing Crew, and the son or grandson of a Legionnaire or Auxiliary member. Applicant must have received the Eagle Scout, be an active member of his religious institution and must have received the appropriate Boy Scout religious emblem, have demonstrated practical citizenship in church, school, Scouting, and community, have reached his 15th birthday and be enrolled in a Tennessee High School at the time of selection.

 

Scholarship for New Nebraskans

Award: $500, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must not be a resident of Nebraska.

 

National Scholars Program

Award: $13,900, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must not be a resident of Michigan or Ohio.

 

Mark Twain Nonresident Scholarship

Award: $5,500, Deadline: August 15

Applicant must rank in top 50% of graduating high school class, have a minimum composite ACT score of 27 (combined SAT I score of 1210), and be a resident of any state except Missouri.

 

Out-of-State Collegiate Scholar

Award: $3,500, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum composite ACT score between 28 and 29 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1250-1320).

 

Out-of-State Presidential Scholar

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and minimum composite ACT score between 32 and 36 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1400 and 1600).

 

Out-of-State Capstone Scholar

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 27 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1210 and 1240).

 

Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship

Applicant must be a Christian woman who is a resident of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be enrolled full time, and be able to demonstrate financial need. Contact the financial aid office for more information regarding applications.

Tennessee Academic Scholars

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and standardized test scores in at least the 95th percentile nationally and be a Tennessee resident.

 

Guy F. Livingston Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA and be a resident of Polk County, TN, Fannin County, GA, or Cherokee County, NC.

 

Out-of-State Tuition Assistance Scholarship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must show academic ability and not be a resident of Idaho.

 

Helen James Brewer Scholarship

Applicant must be a lineal descendant of worthy Confederates or collateral descendant who is a member of the Children of the Confederacy or the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Applicant must be a member or former member of the Children of the Confederacy or the United Daughters of the Confederacy and reside in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in an accredited college or university, and carry a minimum of 12 hours each semester. Applicant must be prepared to pass entrance examination of prospective college or university. Applicant must submit proof of Confederate Military Record, line of descent from Confederate ancestor, a letter of endorsement from sponsoring Chapter, a letter of recommendation, complete financial report, official transcripts, an essay on the significance of a southern heritage, and a wallet-size photo. Original and four copies of the application forms and five copies of all documents, certificates, and letters must be submitted to the Division Director of Education. All inquiries must include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

 

McNair Scholars Award

Applicant must be from outside South Carolina. Selection is based upon academic achievement, leadership, and character.

 

Mt. Garfield Non-Resident Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of any state other than Colorado, and have a minimum 3.2 GPA.

 

Chapter 105 - Memphis - Les Segar Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be seeking an associate's degree or bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing technology, or a closely related field of study. First preference will be given to residents of Tennessee. Second preference will be given to applicants who are seeking their education from the University of Memphis. Third preference will be given to applicants who are seeking their education from a college of university in the state of Tennessee.
