Ora E. Anderson Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the Appalachian Ohio area who will pursue post-secondary education in a natural sciences field.

 

Miami County Master Gardner's Scholarship

Award: $300, Deadline: March 25

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Miami County, OH high school who will major in agriculture, conservation, environmental science, horticulture or natural resources.

 

John W. Landis Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Wayne County high school who will pursue post-secondary education in the field of agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry, home and farm economic, horticulture or solid and water conservation full-time. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Judge Robert Jenkins Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of Portage County who is pursuing a post-secondary degree in the field of law, law enforcement, or natural resources. Minimum 3.4 GPA required; community service/co-curricular activities must be demonstrated.

 

Mineral and Gem Society Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a graduate of an El Dorado county high school who is attending a college or graduate school outside of the county. Applicant must be pursuing a degree and/or career in earth sciences, lapidary arts, or other related fields at an accredited college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

KLL Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 10

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is attending a two- or four-year college or university with an interest in education, arts, environment, math, or science. Applicant must have lost the life of at least one parent to cancer before the age of 22. Financial need and involvement in the community, church, school, or other non-curricular activity are required.

 

William C. Armstrong Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate from a public high school in Henderson County who will be attending a post-high school institution, pursuing a career in conservation and wildlife or related studies. Minimum 2.0 GPA and financial need required.

 

Orchid Care Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student who is pursuing a program in botany, horticulture, environmental science, conservation, or related field, with a focus on orchids.

 

Novus Biologicals Scholarship Program

Award: $1,500, Deadline: July 15

Applicant must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment with a declared major in a science-related field. Applicant must make a top 10 list of reasons why they think science is awesome and write a personal statement on how they plan to use their degree to further advance science in their field of interest.

 

The Blades of Green Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student who is seeking education in an environmental-studies or related field. A 350 to 500 word letter of intent describing the career path you plan to seek after graduation, passion for your intended field, and what inspired you to pursue your intended career path, is required.

 

Timothy L. Taschwer Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.75 and be seeking an undergraduate degree in natural resources, earth sciences or similar fields.

 

Mabel Mayforth Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: March 1

Applicants must be Vermont residents who are college juniors, seniors or graduate students and must major horticulture, landscape, design, conservation, forestry, agronomy, plant pathology or biology with a special interest in plants, ecology and allied subjects. They must be full-time students at an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Previous winners may reapply.

 

Theodore Gordon Flyfishers Inc. Founders Fund Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, undergraduate students with senior standing enrolled full-time or graduate students enrolled full-time. Students must major in an area of environmental studies such as, but not limited to, ecology, hydrology, conservation biology, natural resource management, zoology or environmental law and policy. A list of member institutions is online. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA in environmental conservation coursework and a minimum 3.0 overall.

 

Garden Club of Ohio Inc. Scholarships

Award: -, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must be residents of Ohio and must be enrolled in a postsecondary degree program related to environmental science, plant science, horticulture, floriculture, city planning or wildlife. They must be rising undergraduate juniors, undergraduate seniors or graduate students and have a GPA of 3.25 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Minnesota Division Izaak Walton League Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and Minnesota residents. They must be in the second year or higher of a college degree program in environmental science, environmental education, conservation, environmental law, wildlife management or a related subject. Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.

 

USDA/1890 National Scholars Program

Award: -, Deadline: December 31

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be rising undergraduate freshmen, sophomores or juniors who have a high school diploma or a GED. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. They must plan to enroll or be enrolled at an 1890 Land Grant institution and have plans to major in agriculture; agriculture business/management; agriculture economics; agricultural engineering/mechanics; agricultural productions and technology; agronomy or crop science; animal science; botany; farm and range management; fish, game or wildlife management; food services/technology; forestry and related services; home economics/nutrition/human development; horticulture; natural resources management; soil conservation/soil science or other related disciplines (e.g., biological sciences, pre-veterinary medicine or computer science). They must also have proven leadership skills and must have experience with community service. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

National Garden Clubs Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must be full-time juniors, seniors, graduate students or sophomores applying for their junior year and major in one of the following fields: agriculture education, horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, botany, biology, plant pathology/science, forestry, agronomy, environmental concerns, economics, environmental conservation, city planning, wildlife science, habitat or forest/systems ecology, land management or related areas. Students must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA and be a U.S. citizen.
