Trinity Baptist College Bright Futures Scholarships

Award: $12,000, Deadline: August 31

The Bright Futures program consists of three different awards: Florida Academic Scholars (FAS), Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) and Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars (GSV). To qualify an applicant must be a Florida state resident and U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen; complete the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA); receive a standard Florida high school diploma or its equivalent; not have been convicted of a felony; be accepted by and enroll in a degree or certificate program; and be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per term. In addition, each of the above awards has specific minimum requirements for high school coursework, GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and service hours.

 

Thespian Scholarships

Award: -, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be seniors in high school, active members of the International Thespian Society and planning to major or minor in communicative arts. Most of the scholarships require an audition or tech portfolio.

 

University of New Mexico - Los Alamos - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of New Mexico - Los Alamos as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Applicant must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. Applicant must also be a citizen of the United States or be a U.S. lawful permanent resident.

Dr. Aura-Lee A. and James Hobbs Pittenger American History Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 10

Applicants must be high school seniors or college undergraduates planning to major in American history and American government. A minimum 3.25 GPA is required. The award is up to $2,000 each year for up to four years. All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter. However, affiliation with DAR is not required.

 

University of St. Thomas - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of St. Thomas as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship

Applicants must demonstrate financial need and attend an accredited school of nursing. All applicants must obtain a letter of sponsorship from their local DAR chapter. However, no affiliation with DAR is necessary.

 

Eckerd College Incentive Scholarship Program

Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship

Applicants must desire to attend or be attending an accredited school of nursing. Students must be members, descendants of members or eligible for membership in NSDAR. The DAR member number must be submitted on the application.

 

University of West Florida Incentive Scholarship Program

Delta Faucet Company Scholarships

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicants must be students who are currently enrolled or plan to be enrolled in a p-h-c-related major at an accredited four-year college or university or two-year technical college, community college or trade school. Apprentice program students must also be working full-time for a licensed plumbing or HVAC contractor who is a member of the PHCC. Two $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in either a PHCC-approved apprentice program or a full-time certificate or degree program at an accredited two-year community college, technical college or trade school. Four $2,500 scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited four-year college or university.
