Rollins College Bright Futures Scholarships

Award: $12,000, Deadline: August 31

The Bright Futures program consists of three different awards: Florida Academic Scholars (FAS), Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) and Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars (GSV). To qualify an applicant must be a Florida state resident and U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen; complete the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA); receive a standard Florida high school diploma or its equivalent; not have been convicted of a felony; be accepted by and enroll in a degree or certificate program; and be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per term. In addition, each of the above awards has specific minimum requirements for high school coursework, GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and service hours.

 

Good Neighbor Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, demonstrate leadership, actively participate in community service and have an SAT score of 800 or higher or ACT score of 17 or higher.

 

St. Mary's University of Minnesota - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated St. Mary's University of Minnesota as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Applicant must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. Signal Grace Scholarship Essay Contest

Award: $1,000, Deadline: August 10

Applicants must be high school and college students who are U.S. citizens and attending a U.S. institution, except for students residing in or attending school in Rhode Island. Applicants must read the memoir "Signal Grace" and submit a 500- to 1,000-word essay in response to one of the provided questions. The winner is selected based solely on the merits of the submitted essay.

Applicants must be university students who are struggling financially.

 

Schiller International University Bright Futures Scholarships

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in airport management or airport operations. Applicants must attend an accredited school in the U.S. or Canada and have a GPA of at least 3.0.

Scholarship Program for Young Pianists

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 15

The program is available to any qualified American pianists age 14 to 17 who are enrolled in secondary or undergraduate institutions as full-time students. Applicants also must study music and major in piano. They must submit applications, statements of career goals, two references, audio tapes and $25 fee.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, aviation academy or technical school pursuing a course of study focusing on aviation. Applicants must also be involved in school and community activities as well as aviation and be an EAA member or be recommended by an EAA member.

Applicants must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited college or university with an emphasis on technical information and must intend to pursue a career in engineering, mathematics or the physical or biological sciences.
