Scholarships in Doctoral-level Study

E-Waste Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicants must be a high school, college, graduate or home schooled students. There is no age limit. Students must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. A 140-character message about e-waste is required to apply. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists; finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about e-waste. Only online applications are accepted.

 

Leadership Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must have attended a Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Grad School Tour fair and have completed the (QS) Graduate Application Survey. Essay on the following topic is required: Where I have demonstrated responsible leadership, or innovation, and how it made a difference either in my community or in my work.

 

Scholarship For Academic Excellence

Award: $10,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must have attended a Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Grad School Tour fair and have completed the (QS) Graduate Application Survey. Describe how you plan to build on your academic achievement to date to a) maximize the benefits that your imminent postgraduate program can offer you and b) once you have the postgraduate qualification, apply it in your place of work to general social, scientific or economic advantage.

 

Pepperdine University School of Public Policy Scholarship

Award: $20,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be an attendee of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World Grad School Tour and have been admitted to the Pepperdine University School of Public Policy Program. Minimum TOEFL score of 310 and minimum IELTS score of 7.0 required.

 

Incight Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Oregon, Washington, or California who is a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a documented disability.

 

AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students

Award: $12,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a minority full-time student who has applied to a doctoral program or has been accepted to a doctoral program and plans to pursue the CPA exam.

 

Future Physicians Scholarship Program

Award: $500, Deadline: October 14

Applicant must be currently attending a college, university, medical school, or specialization school, or will be attending within one year, and has hopes to enter the medical field in the future. Essay required.

 

Future Recreation Management Professionals Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: October 14

Applicant must be currently attending a college, university, medical school, or specialization school, or will be attending within one year, and has hopes to enter the recreation management field in the future. Essay required.

 

Griswold Home Care Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be pursuing a bachelor's or associate's degree at an accredited college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA and short essays regarding how applicant provided care/support for another individual are required.

 

Paul Sumerall Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: September 9

Applicant must be an undergraduate or college student or researcher who demonstrates an interest in the money transfer and remittance industry and who conducts/participates in studies in fields directly related to the international transfer of funds in any country in the world.

 

KODAK Student Cinematography Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: May 16

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate level student pursuing a degree in cinematography. A film submission, nomination from school or department official and letter of support are required.

 

The United Methodist General Scholarship

Award: $2,030, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be an active full member of the United Methodist Church for at least one year who is a college student at a U.S. accredited institution. Minimum 2.5 GPA and full-time enrollment status required. International students may apply if they are a member of United Methodist Church for at least three years.

 

The Bishop James C. Baker Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be a current United Methodist Campus Minister who has been in campus ministry for at least three years. Must have received MDIV degree or equivalent and is pursuing advanced training. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

The Elvina Jane Owen Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be an active full member of the United Methodist Church for at least one year who is a college student pursuing a degree in education. Minimum 2.85 GPA and full-time enrollment status required. Preference given to students in the Jonestown District of the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference.

 

The Esther Edwards Graduate Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be a female administrator or faculty member working for a United Methodist related institution and pursuing a Ph.D. in higher education administration. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

The Fred Heather Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be an endorsed individual who is completing requirements for a professional certification, advanced training, or the Association of Clinical Pastor Education super-visor certification.

 

The HANA Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be of Hispanic, Asian, Native American, or Pacific Island descent who is an upper level undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student and has been a full and active member of the United Methodist Church for at least three years. Minimum 2.85 GPA required.

 

The Miriam Hoffman Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must an undergraduate or graduate student who is pursuing a vocational career in music education or music ministry. Must be an active full member of the United Methodist Church for at least one year. Minimum 2.5 GPA and full-time enrollment status required.

 

The Rosalie Bentzinger Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be an ordained deacon pursuing a Ph.D. in Christian Education who is enrolled in a University Senate approved Seminary. Must be a member of the United Methodist Church for at least three years. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

FWA Graduate Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 29

Applicant must be a woman who is currently enrolled or accepted into a graduate business program at a Bay Area college/university or a school satellite campus located within one of the Bay Area counties. Must be pursuing a degree in finance or the financial services industry. Minimum 3.4 GPA, resume, essay, transcript, current photo, and two letters of recommendation required.

 

Wire Reinforcement Institute Education Foundation Graduate Student Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicants must be enrolled full-time in a graduate program at an accredited educational institution in the U.S. or Canada. Selection is primarily based on academic achievement, career goals and extracurricular involvement. Applicants must maintain at least twelve credit hours per semester.

 

Byron Hanke Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited master's, doctoral, or law program in the United States or Canada. Required to write substantial paper on common-interest communities and have three references.

 

FOARE Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: June 16

Applicant must be a high school senior, undergraduate, graduate, masters, or doctoral student enrolled at an accredited institution with career goals and a relationship to outdoor advertising. Financial need, community/extracurricular activities, and academic performance must be demonstrated.

 

Creative Arts/Design Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: June 16

Applicant must be an undergraduate, graduate, master's, or doctoral student pursuing a degree in graphic design with a relationship to outdoor advertising. Work sample/portfolio required. Financial need, extracurricular activity, and academic performance must be demonstrated.

 

Graduate Scholarship

Award: $6,500, Deadline: December 31

Applicant must be a citizen of an Asian country who is a full-time graduate student currently enrolled at an accredited institution in the United States or Canada and hold a valid student ID card. Selection based upon academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in cross-cultural activities, personal statement, and letter of reference completed by a professor or supervisor. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Diversity Scholars Program

Award: $25,000, Deadline: August 15

Applicant must have successfully completed one year of a full-time Juris Doctor program at an American Bar Association (ABA) approved law school. Must demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and writing/interpersonal skills. Cover letter, resume, transcript, and personal essay required.

 

Return 2 College Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: September 30

Applicants must be college or adult students currently attending or planning to attend a two-year or four-year college or graduate school within the next 12 months. Students must be 17 years or older and U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The award may be used for full- or part-time study at either on-campus or online schools. Three sentence essay required on this topic: "Why are you getting your degree?"

 

Healthy Home Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: August 15

Applicant must be a U.S. high school, undergraduate, or graduate student over the age of 16. Minimum 2.75 GPA, written essay, and video submission required.

 

The Expert Institute Legal Blog Post Writing Contest

Award: $500, Deadline: December 31

Applicant must be a J.D. student. A 1,000 to 2,500 word blog-style article on the use of expert witnesses in litigation is required.

 

Miller Law Offices 50+ Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 1

Applicant must be over 50 years old and enrolled at an accredited college/university. Minimum 3.0 GPA, transcripts, letter of acceptance, and essay required on the following topic: "What have you learned as an older American that has prepared you for the challenges you face as a student?"
