Dr. Nathan C. Schaeffer Scholarship

Award: $650, Deadline: February 26

Applicant must be a full-time education student, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, have financial need, and be a resident of Lancaster County, Penn.

 

John A. Baker Memorial Scholarship

Award: $250, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a 2.0 GPA and a strong desire to complete degree. Selection based on financial need.

 

Elizabeth A. Knapp Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a female student who has delayed her formal education due to hardship.

 

Future Teacher Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: July 15

Applicant must write a 250-word essay explaining desire to teach journalism at high school level, two letters of recommendation, transcripts showing academic standing.

 

Members-at-Large Educational Reentry Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a woman who has returned to academic studies after an absence of at least three years. Applicant must demonstrate exceptional qualities of interest, excellence, and professional potential in chemistry and must be nominated by a member of Iota Sigma Pi or by a faculty member. Transcripts, essay, and two letters of recommendation required.

 

Matsuo Bridge Company of Japan Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant be majoring in civil engineering or welding with a minimum 3.0 GPA. A valid United States passport is required.

 

FPMA Scholarship Award

Applicant must be a Florida resident member of FPMA.

 

Carville M. Akehurst Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a resident of Maryland, Virginia, or West Virginia who is a full-time student with a minimum 2.7 GPA. Applicant must follow horticulture or landscape as a field of study and be able to demonstrate interest in working in the green industry. Application must be completed online.

 

E. Power Biggs Fellowship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 28

Applicants aged 23 years of age or older cannot have previously attended an annual convention of the Organ Historical Society. Nomination and endorsement by a member of the Society is encouraged and required in most instances. Program is open to all persons interested in historic preservation.

 

Jean Andrews Nursing Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Addison County in Vermont who will pursue a degree in registered nursing or nursing education at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Burlington Business and Professional Women's Organization Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, or Lamoille county, VT who is the head of a single-parent family and will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Dr. Marc Hull Special Education Leadership Scholarship

Award: $1,250, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont pursuing a certificate or license in special education administration at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Jericho-Underhill Lions Club Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Bolton, Bolton Valley, Huntington, Jericho, Richmond, or Underhill, VT who will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement, financial need, and community service must be demonstrated.

 

Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Windham County, VT who will enroll in a nursing program (LPN, AS, RN, BSN) at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Vermont Mentoring Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who is or has been a mentee in a recognized Mobius mentoring program for a minimum of two consecutive years (excluding e-mentoring). Academic achievement and financial need must be demonstrated.

 

TAHPERD Student Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student studying health education, physical education, recreation, and/or dance at a Texas college or university. Applicant must be a student member of TAHPERD as of March 1 of the application year and continue membership through the next year. Applicant must continue in the same program for fall and spring semesters as a full-time student during the academic year the scholarship is awarded. Letter from chair of applicant's department verifying the discipline in which the applicant is majoring and that he/she is a full-time student is required.

 

Judo Scholarship

Applicant must have an interest in martial arts/judo. Scholarship is not for a club sport. Minimum 2.25 GPA, minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 860 (composite ACT score of 18), and rank in the top half of secondary school class required.

 

NATAS - Upper Midwest Chapter/Foundation - Don Shelby Journalism Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a resident of Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, or Wisconsin who is a current student at an accredited college, university, or technical school majoring in broadcasting, television, or electronic media. Strong GPA, involvement in extra-curricular activities relating to major, demonstrated leadership, and creativity/passion for intended field of employment required.

 

Student Leadership Award

Charlie Heming Educational Scholarship

Applicant or parent of applicant must be a member of NTA for at least three years.

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont residing in one of the following towns: Charleston, Coventry, Derby, Holland, Jay, Lowell, Morgan, Newport City, Newport Town, Troy, or Westfield. Applicant must pursue a degree in communications or the performing arts at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Essay, recommendation letter and financial need required.

 

Max Barrows Graduate Scholarship in Educational Administration

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who will pursue a graduate degree in education administration at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding and will work in Vermont to improve the quality of education. Financial need and academic achievement must be demonstrated.

 

David A. Hicks Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of Mount Anthony Union or West Rutland High School who will pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who is blind or visually impaired, or the child of someone who is blind or visually impaired, or pursuing a career in the education or rehabilitation of blind or visually impaired people.
