Applicant must be a student selected to participate in performing arts organizations. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of an audition.

Applicant must be an incoming student or current SSCC student. High school students must have a minimum 3.0 QPA based on their academic courses. The Academic Scholarship application for a new student includes, an official high school transcript, scores on one of three standardized mathematics and verbal assessments, college transcript (if it applies), a student recommendation form, an original statement, and a completed FAFSA application.

Foundation Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time student (12 credit hours), a U.S. citizen, and a Yuma or La Paz County resident. One page essay on "Why you want the scholarship and your future goals" is also required.

 

Donald Clay Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must have a 3.0 or better GPA majoring in environmental sciences.

 

Dee Jay Carr Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a full-time student, live within the College district service area, and maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout term of scholarship. Applicant must have submitted and been rejected by Pell Grant.

 

Erick Inman Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a Yuma-area graduate, full-time student, and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA. Selection is based upon extracurricular activity involvement, other than sports. Essay is required.

 

Ernest Lopez, Sr. & Betty Lopez Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who is actively pursuing a welding degree, and is a graduate from a college-district high school within the previous two years.

 

George H. & Leila M. Payne Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must have physical disabilities who is taking at least nine credit hours, and has a GPA of 3.0 or better.

 

Sylvia Potts Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a Native American student in degree/certificate related courses, who lives in either Yuma or La Paz counties, and has a 2.0 or higher GPA.

 

Sunblet Communications Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a full-time student with a 2.5 GPA in performance-based and academic-based majors. Preference given to Broadcasting or related majors. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have graduated from a high school in Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, or Wyoming.

TRIO Scholarship

Applicant must be a student with a minimum 2.75 GPA and submit an essay on why education is important to their future.

 

Non-Traditional Student Scholarship

Applicant must enroll in a minimum of six credit hours per semester. Preference will be given to re-entry students 23 years of age or older.

 

Honors Scholarship

Applicant must enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and be a new or returning student who participates in the Honors Program.

Applicant must be a student who participates in certain activities and is enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours each semester.

Alice P. Chancellor Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a student who is majoring in nursing and accepted into the Nursing Program. Applicant must also have and maintain a 2.0 or higher GPA and be a Cochise County high school graduate.

 

Andrea Cracchiolo Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a student enrolled full-time in a health-related education course, be a high school graduate, and be able to provide references on academic and personal character, along with records demonstrating academic standing. Additionally, the applicant's parents must have resided in the community for at least one year in order to be eligible. Selection will be based upon academic excellence, among a few other factors.

 

Bruce Winter Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be majoring in professional pilot technology, be enrolled in the pro-pilot program, have earned a commercial pilot rating from Cochise College and finally, have and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA. Screening by aviation department chair and two aviation faculty members, as well as by normal Foundation procedures are required.

 

Carlotta S. Madril Scholarship

Award: $150, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a student with a 2.0 ("C") average who does not excel at achievement tests.

 

Clark & Allie Wilson Scholarship

Award: $200, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a non-traditional female student returning to school after spending time in the workforce or raising a family. She must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be enrolled in a minimum of nine credit hours.

 

Scholars Scholarship

Award: $250, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a returning student with a minimum of 12 units completed at the College. Applicant must have and maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA and submit a 500-word essay addressing their life story.

 

Darryl A. Duncan Memorial Scholarship

Award: $150, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a full-time student majoring in computer information systems with an emphasis in networking who is seeking an AAS degree. Additionally, applicant must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA.
