Debaun Performing Arts Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must demonstrate achievement in performance, including drama or music.

 

John H. Stamler Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: June 15

Applicant must be New Jersey resident and a sworn law enforcement officer seeking educational advancement on a college or graduate level to improve his/her effectiveness. Applicant must demonstrate financial need.

 

National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women's Clubs Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

 

Legacy Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 15

Selection based upon high school record, recommendations, and extracurricular achievements.

 

Music Business/Technology Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a member of Sigma Alpha Iota.

 

UAT Presidential Honor Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 5

Applicant must have a minimum 3.85 GPA (high school) or 3.8 GPA (college), a minimum GED score of 770, and/or a minimum combined SAT score of 1542 (composite ACT score of 35).

 

Jazz Studies Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Must be a member of Sigma Alpha Iota

 

Dean's Award Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 5

Applicant must have a minimum 3.6 GPA (high school) or 3.47 GPA (college), a minimum GED score of 720, and/or a minimum combined SAT score of 1445 (composite ACT score of 31).

 

Nontraditional Student Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 1

Applicant must be insured with modern woodmen, must be accepted or attend an accredited college, university, trade or technical school. Full or part-time status is acceptable. Student may be awarded only one award during his or her lifetime.

 

Transfer Scholarship

Award: $7,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be an admitted transfer student with a minimum 2.25 cumulative college GPA.

 

Fine Arts/Athletics Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: None

Selection based upon applicant's talents in athletics, music, art, theater, and forensics. Applicant must be nominated. Award amounts vary depending on talent.

 

Dean's Award

Award: $8,000, Deadline: None

Selection is based upon GPA and standardized test scores. FAFSA is required.

 

William S. Barnes Honors Program Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be enrolled in the Honors Program and must demonstrate superior academic ability, leadership qualities, and commitment for pursuing continued education.

 

Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship - Eta Gamma Chapter

Award: -, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must be a member of Eta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda, have completed 30 hours toward degree requirements, have a letter of reference from a staff member, and demonstrate academic achievement and leadership.

 

Benjamin and Bevra Pease Muirhead Presidential Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must rank in the top 15% of class and be a Presidential Scholar.

 

Edward Austin Sheldon Scholars Awards

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and submit an essay.

 

H. Lois and Paul Goodwin Memorial Scholarship

Award: $975, Deadline: February 6

Applicant must have completed a minimum 60 hours, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and submit and essay evaluating some aspect of American government, politics, society or culture.

 

Hubert B. Smith Diversity Scholarship

Award: $1,400, Deadline: January 30

Applicant must be nominated by a faculty or staff member, be of African, Hispanic, Asian, or Native American Heritage, have a minimum of 27 credits, have a minimum 3.2 GPA, and demonstrate good character and integrity.

 

James E. Perdue Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,250, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in the College of Arts and Sciences, or be undeclared and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Janice Pettit Non-Traditional Memorial Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: April 6

Applicant must be a non-traditional female returning to school after a minimum of ten years of formal education and have successfully completed one semester.

 

Olive Brannan Spargo Endowed Leadership Fund

Award: $550, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate leadership and citizen involvement and have two references.

 

Norman E. Whitten Award
