Applicants from economically distressed areas may qualify for Urban Scholars based on class rank and GPA. Applicants must be NJ residents for at least 12 consecutive months prior to enrollment. Must be registered with selective service (if applicable). Must maintain satisfactory academic progress. Applicants do not apply directly to this program. They must be nominated by their high school.

 

Part-Time Tuition Aid Grant (TAG) for County College Students

NJ World Trade Center Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be child or spouse of a NJ resident who was killed in 9/11 attacks. Applicant must be enrolled full time at an eligible institution and be a NJ resident. Eligibility is continued for eight years from the date of high school graduation for children and eight years from the date of death for spouses.

 

Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Scholarship (LEOMS)

Applicant must be a child of a New Jersey law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty; full-time enrollment in an eligible (NJ approved) institution is required.

 

NJCLASS Loan Program

Applicant must be U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen and be enrolled at least half time at eligible institutions. Applicant must have satisfactory academic progress and satisfactory credit history. A cosigner can be added if needed. Must fill all financial aid information by one school. May not exceed total cost of education. Loan is for NJ eligible institution or NJ resident attending an approved out-of-state institution

 

Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans

Award: -, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be the dependent child or unremarried spouse of a Florida veteran who died as a result of service-connected injuries, diseases, or disabilities sustained while on active duty or who have been certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs as having service-connected 100% permanent and total disabilities. The veteran must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen who was a Florida resident for one year immediately preceding time of death and who died as a result of a service-connected disability sustained while on active duty. Veteran may also have been classified as a P.O.W. or M.I.A. by the Armed Forces of the United States or as a civilian personnel captured while servicing with the consent or authorization of the United States government during wartime service. The child or spouse must be a Florida resident and a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen who is enrolled in an undergraduate degree or certificate program for a minimum of six credit hours, 180 clock hours, or the equivalent at a post-secondary institution. Applicant must not owe a repayment or be in default under any state or federal grant, loan, or scholarship program unless satisfactory arrangements to repay have been made.

Applicant must be an African-American, Hispanic, or Native American female. Applicant must be a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate degree in the geosciences at an accredited college or university.

 

Puget Sound Chapter Scholarship

Applicants must be undergraduate women committed to completing a Bachelor's Degree and pursuing a career or graduate work in the geosciences and have a minimum 3.2 GPA. Applicant must be a sophomore, junior, or senior women enrolled in a university or 2-year college in Washington State west of the Columbis and Okanogan Rivers
