ACOR Fellow MESA Award

Applicants must be former ACOR Fellows of any nationality that are graduate students or post-doctoral scholars. Funds are to be used to attend the Middle East Studies Association (MESA) annual meeting.

U.S. News Path to College Scholarship Program

Applicants must be attending a U.S. public or private high school and plan to enroll full-time at an accredited 4-year college or university in the U.S. immediately following graduation. Minimum GPA of a 3.0 is required. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

 

Direct Textbook Shine Photo Essay Contest

Award: $500, Deadline: January 16

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student attending an accredited U.S.-based college or university. Applicant must submit an original photo that captures the "Shine" theme. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Lee Thornton Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicants must be a sophomore, junior or senior at a college or university with preference given to students of the University of Maryland and Howard University. Students should be pursuing a degree in journalism, broadcasting or communications. Applicants must include URL links to 3 to 5 work samples.

 

Husband and Wife Law Team Arizona Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 17

Applicants must be residents of Arizona and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Students should be high-school seniors or current college students who have demonstrated academic excellence as well as a desire to improve their local community. 2.8 GPA or higher required.

 

TetherBox Creative Video Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicants must be a high school senior or currently enrolled undergraduate student. Students must be enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year institution within the U.S. Applicants must make a creative funny, heartwarming or informational video that is at least 1 minute but no longer than 4 minutes.

 

King of Maids Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 30

Applicant must be a student working toward a four-year degree by taking at least 12 credit hours per semester at an accredited college or university in the United States. Applicant must leave a unique and thoughtful comment about a blog post on sponsor's website.

 

Cognizant Transformation Young Entrepreneur Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and a high school senior or currently enrolled college student. Students must submit either a 1,000-word essay or 5-7 minute video on any aspect of entrepreneurship. Applicants must not include an entrepreneurial idea in their submission or it will be automatically disqualified.

 

High School Achievement

Award: $24,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicants must be entering full-time freshmen who have exceptional academic achievement and co-curricular activities.

 

Business Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicants must be new, full-time freshmen who are declared business majors and who are recipients of Adelphi academic scholarships.

 

Community College Partnership Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicants must be new, full-time transfer students from Kingsborough Community College, LaGuardia Community College, Nassau Community College, Queensborough Community College and Suffolk County Community College who have obtained an A.A. or A.S. degree. Students must also receive an academic or talent award.

 

High School Achievement Talent Combination Award

Award: $24,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicants must be a freshman at Adelphi and qualify for an academic award and a talent award.

 

Math and Science Initiative Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicants must be new, full-time freshmen students who have a declared major of biology, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, environmental science, math, neuroscience or physics. Students must meet the minimum requirements for the Presidential Scholarship to qualify for the Math and Science award.

 

Nursing Scholars Award

Applicants must be new, full-time freshmen students who have a declared major of nursing. Students must meet the minimum requirements for the Presidential Scholarship to be considered for this award.

 

Phi Theta Kappa Award

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicants must be new, full-time transfer students who demonstrate high academic achievement. Students must be members of Phi Theta Kappa.

 

Phi Theta Kappa Select Award

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 1

Applicants must be new, full-time transfer students who demonstrate high academic achievement and a commitment to service in the community. Students must be members of Phi Theta Kappa and have a minimum 3.3 GPA or higher.

 

Tau Sigma Award

Applicants must be current, full-time transfer students attending Adelphi who have been a member of Tau Sigma for a minimum of one semester. Students must have a commitment to community service.

 

Transfer Talent Award

Applicants must be transfer students who are now attending Adelphi. Selection will be based upon the student's audition or portfolio review and academic record.

 

Student Success Scholarship

Students must have completed 30 credit hours at Adelphi and have at least a 3.5 GPA.

 

Robert B. Willumstad Transfer Scholars Award

Applicants must be transfer students attending Adelphi enrolled in a major within the Business School. Students must maintain a 3.3 GPA or higher.

 

Stay on Long Island Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time incoming freshman who is the recipient of the Otto Kahn Award in Music and who demonstrates exceptional musical talent. Student should have a declared major in music or music education.

 

Graduate Recognition Scholarship

Applicant must be a high achieving graduate student who has been fully admitted and will begin their graduate program within the next three semesters.

 

Graduate International Recognition Scholarship

Applicants must be high achieving international graduate students who have been fully admitted and begin their graduate program at Adelphi within the following three semesters.

 

John Stallworth Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicants must be a United State citizen, a high school senior graduating in good standing, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or above and have a score in the 50 percentile or above on either the ACT or SAT. Students must have documented leadership qualities in high school, church or community activities.

 

Washington DC Metro Alumni Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 13

Applicants must be from Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia or Delaware. Students must be current high school graduates accepted to AAMU or students currently attending AAMU and pursuing a degree.
