Applicants must be Latino and either attending California schools or be California residents attending out-of-state schools. Students must show an interest in journalism (broadcast, print, photo or online) and demonstrate financial need and academic achievement.

 

CCNMA Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 2

Applicants must be Latino and either California residents or be attending California schools. While the student's degree does not have to be in journalism, they must demonstrate plans to pursue a career in journalism. An interview and autobiographical essay are required. Awards are based also on financial need, academic achievement and a civic responsibility.

Frank del Olmo Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be Latino, be either California residents or attending California schools and have an interest in pursuing a journalism career. An interview is required. Financial need, academic achievement and community involvement are also considered.

 

Bachelor of Science Nursing Scholarship Program

Award: $13,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicants must be attending a California undergraduate nursing program and be fluent in a language other than English. Financial need, work experience, academic achievement and community involvement are considered. A two-year service agreement to work in a medically underserved area of California is required. Preference is given to those who expect to graduate within two years and to those who plan to remain in a medically underserved area after the service agreement has expired. Applicant must have minimum 2.0 GPA.

Florida Student Assistance Grant Program

There are three student financial aid programs: The Florida Public Student Assistance Grant is for students who attend state universities and public community colleges. The Florida Private Student Assistance Grant is for students who attend eligible private, non-profit, four-year colleges and universities. The Florida Postsecondary Student Assistance Grant is for students who attend eligible degree-granting private colleges and universities that are ineligible under the Florida Private Student Assistance Grant. High school students in the top 20 percent of their classes receive priority funding.

 

William P. Willis Scholarship Program

Applicants must be Oklahoma residents who are enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program at an Oklahoma State System institution. They must also meet low-income criteria.

Continuing Education Scholarships

Applicants must be FACT members or their immediate families in the following categories: current high school seniors, students already in college, students who graduated from high school four or more years ago or students planning to attend a trade or technical school.

 

GEM MS Engineering Fellowship Program

Applicants must be college seniors or graduate students majoring in engineering or computer science and be members of one of the following minority groups: African American, Native American or Latino or other Hispanic American. Students must also be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have a minimum 2.8 GPA and agree to intern for two summers with a GEM employer.

Applicant must be a Golden Key member, be enrolled in a graduate program or an undergraduate who will be enrolled in a graduate program in the next academic year. Selection is based on future academic and career goals, as well as how the applicant plans to create change in the future. Applicants must display academic achievement, leadership, service and involvement with the local Golden Key chapter.

 

Joan Nelson Study Abroad Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 15 and December 15

Applicants must be undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate members who plan to be or are currently enrolled in a study abroad program. Selection is based on academic achievement and relevance of the study abroad program to the applicant's major. Students must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at time of application.

Appaloosa Youth Association Essay Contest

Applicants must be 18 and under and should submit entry forms and essays on the provided themes. There are two age divisions: 13 and under and 14 to 18. Awards are based on originality and accuracy.

United Parcel Service Scholarship for Female Students

Applicants must be full-time female students at an institution in the United States, Canada or Mexico with an accredited industrial engineering program, majoring in industrial engineering or its equivalent and active members. Students may not apply directly for this scholarship and must be nominated. The award is based on academic ability, character, leadership, potential service to the industrial engineering profession and financial need. Applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA.
