AHEPA Educational Foundation National Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

For a District to qualify and recommend a student for an AHEPA Educational Foundational National Scholarship, it must have: A viable, ongoing scholarship program administered by an established educational/scholarship entity such as a Foundation, a Committee, etc. The District educational/scholarship entity uses a vehicle such as an application to allow the student to apply for a scholarship, as well as use the information provided by the student, to rank the applicants. The District educational/scholarship entity must have awarded each year for the last two years at least two scholarships per year excluding the AHEPA Educational Foundation National Scholarship and at least $1,000 in scholarship awards per year. The student recommended for an AHEPA Educational Foundation National Scholarship has been selected using the same procedures as those that qualified applicants for the District Scholarships.

 

Past President's Parley Nurses Scholarship

Applicant must be a member of the North Dakota American Legion Auxiliary and have an interest in nursing.

 

Minnesota Legionnaire Insurance Trust Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and legal resident of Minnesota who is also a veteran, a child of a veteran, or a grandchild of a veteran. Selection is based upon applicant's personal need, desire to continue education, and good record of school and community citizenship.

 

Jerry L. Pettis Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must demonstrate interest and involvement in the communication of science. Applicant must be nominated by the dean of an AMA-approved medical school. The following materials (original and one copy) should be submitted: letter of nomination from the Office of the Dean (addressed to J. Edward Hill, M.D., President, AMA Foundation), applicant's letter of application and CV, letter of recommendation from professional who is involved in some area of communications and is familiar with the student's work, and reprints and/or other materials prepared by the applicant to support the nomination.

 

L. Ron Hubbard Writers of the Future Contest Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 31; March 31; June 30; September 30

Applicant must not be a professional writer with no more than three stories published in professional media (minimum 5,000 copies/hits) plus pay, and no novels published in professional media (5,000 copies/hits, plus pay). Contest is for science fiction and fantasy stories of up to 17,000 words in length, for new and amateur writers. Entrants retain all publication rights. Recipients receive prize money, plus an all-expenses-paid trip to a seven day professional writers workshop and awards ceremony.

Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC)

Applicant must be a college graduate; have a minimum GRE score of 1050; demonstrate manual and studio skills; have completed course work in archaeology, art history, chemistry, and studio art; and have at least 400 hours of art conservation experience. Fellowship is offered as part of U of Delaware's M.S. program in art conservation.

Mollie Butler Memorial Scholarship

Walter and Virginia Nord Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from any Lorain County high school demonstrating high academic achievement, financial need, and active involvement in extracurricular activities. FAFSA and Student Aid Report are required.

 

National Achievement Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Black American. PSAT/NMSQT exam and indication on the test answer sheet that he or she wishes to compete for the Achievement Scholarship are required. Selection is based upon abilities, skills, accomplishment, and potential for success in rigorous college studies and beyond. About 1,600 high-scoring participants are designated Semifinalists and have an opportunity to continue in the competition for awards.

 

McClennan Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school student who plans to further their education who is the child of a fallen fire fighter in the line of duty.

 

Maine Veterans Dependent Educational Benefits

Applicant must be a spouse or child of a veteran who is permanently and totally disabled due to a service-connected cause, and must plan to attend a public Maine school. Veteran must have been resident of Maine at time of entry into service or have been a resident five years prior to application. Award is for a two- or four-year degree program.

 

Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP)

Trout Unlimited Graduate Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled or have been selected to matriculate as a full-time graduate student at Colorado State University. Applicant must study fisheries biology, fisheries management, water quality related to coldwater fisheries or conservation with emphasis on salmonid species and their ecosystems.

 

Thomas J. Watson Fellowship

Award: $31,000, Deadline: First Tuesday in November

Applicant must demonstrate integrity, strong ethical character, leadership, and potential for humane and effective participation in the world community. Selection is based upon academic record and extracurricular activities, as well as feasibility and personal significance of the proposed project. Applicant must attend a participating school and be nominated by that institution.

 

Thomas F. Seay Scholarship

Applicant must be an Illinois resident enrolled in an real estate related program and have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

 

David and Dovetta Wilson Scholarship
