Selection is based upon academic achievement. Creative abilities and involvement in school activities are considered.

 

Whittle Scholar Award

Award: $7,000, Deadline: January 15 (nomination is due by December 15)

Selection is based upon academic performance and leadership qualities. Special consideration is given to applicants who demonstrate unusual or exceptional ways to pursue educational and leadership opportunities beyond the classroom setting.

 

Frederick T. Bonham Scholarship

Applicant must be an entering freshman at the University of Tennessee. Selection based on GPA and ACT/SAT score.

 

Andrew D. Holt Scholarship

Applicant typically should have a minimum 3.9 GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 30. Selection is based upon academic and leadership abilities.

 

Robert R. Neyland Scholarship

Award: $7,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must rank in top tenth of class and demonstrate leadership potential through church, community, and extracurricular activities. If other qualifications are equal, preference is given to applicants who participate in sports and demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be a Tennessee resident or the child of alumni regardless of the state of residence.

 

Reeder-Siler Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduate of a high school in Anderson, Blount, or Knox counties, Tenn., have a minimum 3.0 GPA, a minimum composite ACT score of 27 or equivalent SAT I score, and demonstrate leadership through sports, academic organizations, or student activities. Financial need is considered if all other qualifications are equal.

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of an employee of Beaman Bottling Company, Inc., or Shelbyville Bottling Company, Inc., or have graduated from a high school in a county served by Beaman Bottling or Shelbyville Bottling as of January 1, 1990. Selection is based upon GPA, test scores, and financial need.

Cochran-McDonald Scholarship

Applicant must be employed by a Cochran-family-operated McDonald's restaurant and have a good work record and a recommendation from the manager. Financial need may be considered. Preference is given to freshmen and applicants demonstrating academic excellence.
