Transfer Academic Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: February 15 (priority)

Transfer students must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and at least 12 credit hours of transferable credit required from all colleges previously attended.

 

Markowski-Leach Scholarships

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student who is lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual, or queer. Award recipient will have been determined to be likely to make a substantial contribution to society and be able to enhance society's perception of LGBTQ people, as well as increasing the GGDTQ community's self-esteem. Study in LGBTQ-related fields is not required. Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership and a commitment to excellence in their service, employment, or scholastic endeavors.

 

New Student Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 15 (fall); November 1 (spring)

Applicant must be a new student who has never attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary or Leavell College in the past.

 

Upakar Foundation Indian American Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who was born in or has a parent born in the Republic of India. Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the United States who is actively seeking enrollment in a four-year college or university. Minimum cumulative 3.6 GPA and 2013 Family Adjusted Gross Income on the IRS form 1040, 1040EZ or 1040A of less than $75,000 required.

 

Horton-Hallowell Fellowship

Award: $9,000, Deadline: Early January

Applicant must be a woman and a graduate of Wellesley Coll who plans graduate study in any field, preferably in last two years of candidacy for Ph.D. or equivalent, or for private research of equivalent standard. Preference is given to those who have not previously held the award. Selection is based upon merit and need.

 

Transfer Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time accepted transfer student who was a full-time student at their most recently attended accredited institution. Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA or a membership in Phi Theta Kappa.

 

Centennial Endowed Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a first-generation college student (neither parent has earned a bachelor's degree) and be able to demonstrate community service through a written statement included in the application.

 

Church - College Matching Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

 

Illinois American Legion Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a member of an American Legion post in Illinois and have attended high school in Illinois. Selection is based upon scholarship and financial need.

 

USA Honors Program Scholarship

Eagle Honors Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA on a 4.0 scale, be a first-year student, and have a minimum SAT Reasoning score of 1590.

 

Fr. Bertin Emling Chemistry Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: November 1

Pre-registration required. Selection is based upon performance on a competitive chemistry exam.

 

Service Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be an Illinois high school senior who has taken the ACT. Applicant must be the unmarried child of a member of the Armed Forces or of a veteran who served after September 15, 1940 and was honorably discharged.

 

Buckingham Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be the child of an air traffic control specialist and be accepted or enrolled in a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree or higher.

 

Charles Winter Wood Scholarship

Award: $40,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a student who is traditionally underrepresented in American higher education (low income, first generation, and/or domestic minority status). Selection based upon record of strong academic achievement, leadership, and service.

 

Vocational/Technical Scholarship

Award: $300, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must plan to enroll in a vocational or technical school and must be connected to a veteran.

 

Faculty and Staff Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: January 17

Applicant must be a full-time student, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate community and school involvement.

 

APS Minority Travel Fellowship Awards

Award: $1,800, Deadline: n/a

Applicant must be an underrepresented minority graduate student, post-doctoral fellow, and early career faculty (recently transitioned); or a graduate student, post-doctoral fellow, and early career faculty (recently transitioned) with disabilities. Applicant must be attending a United States institution and conducting research in physiology within the U.S. and it's territories. Fellowship looks to increase active participation in and networking at scientific meetings among pre- and post-doctoral students who are from groups underrepresented in the physiological sciences.

 

Finlandia Foundation Nation Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary school in the United States and Finland. Applicant must show evidence of continuing to the sophomore level or higher and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection based upon financial need, course of study, and U.S./Finnish citizenship.

 

Vermont State Grange Cobble Hill Grange Scholarship (Education)

Award: $500, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont pursuing a degree in education at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement and financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Texas History Essay Contest

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 3

Applicant must submit a 1,500- to 2,000-word essay on Texas history. Selection is based upon depth of research into Texas history, originality of thought and expression, and organization.

 

President's Meritorious Scholarship

Award: $4,744, Deadline: February 13

Applicant must have an ACT score of 28 or above. Essay, letters of recommendation, and interview are required.

 

Daniel Gerber Sr. Medallion Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a resident of Newaygo County, Michigan, attending one of the five district schools in Newaygo County. GPA of 3.71 is required.

 

Michael and Deborah Weinberg Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont whose parent(s) volunteered with a Vermont rescue squad and/or fire department for a minimum of five years and will attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement and financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Campus Club Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman, a graduate of Wellesley College, age 26 or under at time of appointment, and unmarried throughout tenure who is planning research or study abroad or in the U.S. Preference is given to those who have not previously held the award. Selection is based upon merit and need.
