Applicant must be an AIChE member and submit a paper describing original research or design on the application of chemical engineering to environmental protection.

 

Environmental Division Undergraduate Student Paper Award

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate, be an AIChE student member, and submit a paper on environmentally-related research. Selection is based upon knowledge, originality, and merits of project results.

 

Nuclear Engineering Division Student Award

Award: $300, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a full-time student, be an AIChE student member, and submit an original paper on nuclear-related studies in chemical engineering. Selection is based upon technical merit, knowledge, and originality.

 

Separations Division Graduate Research Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be nominated by an AICHE Separations Division session chair and must submit a paper on separations fundamentals or applications that was part of applicant's graduate degree work. Selection is based upon technical content, quality of writing, and organization.

Student must have completed a college-prep curriculum which includes a minimum of four years of English, two years of foreign language (or equivalent), three years of mathematics, and three years of science (by the time of graduation); have a 3.5 or higher GPA amount the aforementioned courses; and score in the upper 10% on the SAT or ACT. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Applicant must be a current member of Phi Theta Kappa and have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant must earn a transferable Associate of Arts Degree from a Washington State Community College before entering CWU.

 

Centennial Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be accepted into an accredited nursing program in Oregon and be taking courses offered in the nursing curriculum (not pre-requisite courses) with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection will be based upon leadership abilities/experiences; experiences with other cultures, minority groups, and under-served populations; career plans in nursing; and reasons for needing scholarship funds. Letter of Acceptance from nursing program, official transcript of all college coursework, and signed GPA form are required to be submitted.

 

James V. Day Scholarship

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is a resident of the state of Maine and is enrolled in or attending an accredited college or vocational technical school. Letters of recommendation that exhibit their good character are required to be submitted. Applicant must have a parent or grandparent who is a current member of an American Legion Post in the State of Maine, and be able to exhibit financial needs.

 

Daniel E. Lambert Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is a resident of the State of Maine, and is enrolled in, or attending an accredited college or vocational technical school. Applicant must have a parent or grandparent who are veterans, and be able to exhibit financial needs. Applicant must also be of good character (demonstrated through letters of recommendation), and also have demonstrated by his or her past behavior, that he/she believes in the American way of life.

 

American Ground Water Trust-Baroid Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident who plans to attend a college or university west of the Mississippi River and be planning for a career in a ground water-related field. Applicant must have completed a science/environmental project which directly involved ground water resources or had an out-of-school work experience relating to the environment and natural resources. Minimum 3.0 GPA, essay, description of ground water project or practical environmental work experience, and two letters of recommendation are required.

 

Baird Society Resident Scholar

Applicant must be in residence at the Smithsonian during the award period. The focus of the applicant's project must center around Special Collections, which are located in Washington, D.C., and New York City.

 

John Mabry Forestry Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited forestry school who is beginning their third year of a four-year program or beginning the second year of a two-year program.

 

MSPE Auxiliary Grant

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a Michigan resident, be enrolled in an ABET-accredited Michigan college, be a member of MSPE, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate intent to enter the engineering field after graduation. Selection is based upon academic record, extracurricular activities, professor recommendations, and leadership and other personal traits. Preference is given to children of MSPE members.
