Applicant must be a lineal descendant of worthy Confederates or collateral descendant who is a member of the Children of the Confederacy or the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Applicant must be enrolled in a school of nursing, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and carry a minimum of 12 hours each semester. Applicant must be prepared to pass entrance examination of prospective school. Applicant must submit proof of Confederate Military Record, line of descent from Confederate ancestor, a letter of endorsement from sponsoring Chapter, a letter of recommendation, complete financial report, official transcripts, an essay on the significance of a southern heritage, and a wallet-size photo. Original and four copies of the application forms and five copies of all documents, certificates and letters must be submitted to the Division Director of Education. Applicant must be a nurse seeking an advanced clinical practice degree and must submit typewritten application form, biographical sketch, personal statement, transcripts, and at least two references. Preference given to applicant focusing on cardiac nursing including cardiac resuscitation. Selection is based upon applicant's statement of goals, professional or ENA involvement, and GPA. Applicant must have been an ENA member for a minimum of 12 months.
