Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must reside in and/or be a citizen of the United States, its territories or possessions who is enrolled (if of the appropriate age) in an accredited two- or four-year public or private school in the United States. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age, or if between the ages of 13-18, have a person of at least 18 years of age submit the entry with the names of the applicant and submitting adult. A legislative proposal for any jurisdiction within the United States is required to be submitted.

 

Richard H. Pierce Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a Maine resident who has been accepted to or enrolled in any two- or four-year degree-granting college or university that is accredited by the Association of Schools and Colleges, both in-state or out-of-state. Selection is based on academic excellence, demonstrated financial need and contributions to school, community and/or work environment. A 300-word essay is required.

Applicant must be a college student enrolled in an educational institution in the United States. Applicant must submit a picture of their college dorm room.

Applicant must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in the humanities. Applicant must fill out a quick one-minute form to be entered. Transcript required of recipients.
