Paul Laurence Dunbar Scholarship

Applicant must be an African-American, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, have a minimum composite ACT score of 20 (combined SAT I score of 870), rank in top fifth of graduating class, and have completed college-preparatory course work.

 

Valedictorian and Salutatorian Scholarship

Applicant must rank first or second in a four-year high school.

 

National Scholarship

Applicant must be a National Merit finalist or National Achievement finalist.

 

Boston College Scholarship/Grant

Selection is based upon financial need and GPA.

 

Army ROTC/Villanova Scholars Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 7

Applicant must be selected by the Army for an 80% tuition scholarship to receive the room and board scholarship from the university.

 

Air Force ROTC/Villanova Scholars Award

Award: $6,790, Deadline: January 7

Applicant must be receiving a level II AFROTC scholarship as designated by the Air Force.

 

Presidential Scholarship for Underrepresented Students

Applicant must first be nominated by the chief academic officer of their high school by December 1. Student may also be nominated by a representative from a home school entity or non-profit educational organization dedicated to helping disadvantaged high school students with the college process. Applicant must be an underrepresented student with an outstanding high school record and class rank. Minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1400 (composite ACT score of 32) required.

 

Villanova Scholars Award

Award: $12,500, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must have a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1380 or composite ACT score of 30 and a minimum 3.85 GPA, ranking in the top five percent of their graduating class.

 

National Merit Scholarship

Applicant must be a National Merit finalist who designates Villanova University as their first choice.

ANS Delayed Education for Women Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman, must have experienced at least a one-year delay or interruption in undergraduate studies, be entering a four-year curriculum at a U.S. institution, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and have proven academic ability. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, and must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee, member, or organization member.

 

NPPF Still Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have completed one year at a recognized four-year college or university having courses in photojournalism, and must be continuing in a program leading to a bachelor's degree. Applicant must have a minimum of one-half year of undergraduate schooling reamaining at time of award. Award is aimed at an applicant with journalism potential, but with little opportunity and great need.

 

NPPF Television News Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be enrolled at a recognized four-year college or university, have courses in TV news photojournalism in a program leading to a bachelor's degree, and submit a videotape with examples of work and a one-page biographical sketch including statement of professional goals. Tape should contain no more than three complete stories (total time for all stories: six minutes) with voice narration and natural sound. Applicant must also include a letter from his or her professor/advisor. Award is aimed at applicant with television news photojournalism potential, but with little opportunity and great need.

 

Reid Blackburn Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a high school graduate, be pursuing a career in photojournalism, and be continuing in a program leading to a bachelor's degree. Applicant must have a minimum one-half year of undergraduate schooling remaining at time of award. Selection is based upon the philosophy and goals statement in the application.

 

Bob East Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be an undergraduate in the first 3-1/2 years of college or plan to pursue postgraduate work and provide proof of acceptance to the program. Applicant must submit a portfolio of at least five single images and a picture story. Recipient chosen primarily on quality of portfolio.

 

AMS Industry/Government Graduate Fellowship

Award: $23,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident entering first year of graduate school at an accredited U.S. institution pursuing a full-time course of study in the atmospheric or related oceanic or hydrologic sciences over a full academic year.

 

Louise Wallace Hackney Fellowship for the Study of Chinese Art

Award: $8,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and must have completed three years study of the Chinese language.

 

Jefferson Caffery Scholarship
