International Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15 (fall semester); October 1 (spring semester); March 1 (summer)

Applicants must be currently enrolled college undergraduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA who show leadership potential and are involved in extra-curricular activities centered on multicultural or international issues. Applicants must submit a 1,000-word essay on how study abroad will change their lives.

 

The Art Institute of Jacksonville Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

The Florida Incentive Scholarship Program is a merit scholarship for Florida high school graduates who receive recognition as a National Merit or National Achievement Scholars. Applicants must earn a standard Florida high school diploma; be a National Merit Finalist or National Achievement Finalist; enroll at an eligible Florida postsecondary institution; be a Florida resident; and enroll full-time (minimum 12 credit hours per term or quarter equivalency) in a baccalaureate degree program.

 

Donald F. and Mildred Topp Othmer Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 15

Applicants must be members of an AIChE Student Chapter or Chemical Engineering Club. Applicants must be nominated by their student chapter advisors. Awards are presented on the basis of academic achievement and involvement in student chapter activities.

 

University of Texas - Brownsville - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of Texas - Brownsville as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Applicant must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. Applicant must also be a citizen of the United States or be a U.S. lawful permanent resident.

 

National Student Design Competition

Award: $500, Deadline: June 10

Applicants must be members of an AIChE student chapter and enter a contest to solve a chemical engineering design problem.

Minority Scholarship Awards for Incoming College Freshmen

Award: $1,000, Deadline: July 1

Applicants must be members of a minority group (i.e. African American, Hispanic, Native American or Alaskan Native) that is underrepresented in chemical engineering. Applicants must also be high school graduates during the academic year of application and plan to enroll in a four-year college or university. Applicants are encouraged to major in science or engineering. Selection is also based on academic record, reason for choosing science or engineering, work or activities and financial need.

 

University of Texas at Dallas - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of Texas at Dallas as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Minority Scholarship Awards for College Students

Award: $1,000, Deadline: July 1

Applicants must be members of a minority group that is underrepresented in the field of chemical engineering (African-American, Latino, Native American, Alaska Native or Pacific Islander). They must be student members of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and must be undergraduates who are majoring in chemical engineering. Selection is based on academic merit, stated career goals, AIChE participation and financial need.

 

Ave Maria University Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

TOPSS Competition for High School Psychology Students

Award: $250, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be high school students who have been or are presently enrolled in a psychology course and must write an essay answering a question from the APA. A Teachers of Psychology in Secondary Schools (TOPSS) member must sponsor all candidates, and each school may submit no more than five papers.

 

University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

APF/COGDOP Graduate Research Scholarships

Applicants must attend a school whose psychology department is a member in good standing of Council of Graduate Departments of Psychology (COGDOP). Applicants are nominated by their schools' departments with no more than three nominees at each school.

 

Baptist College of Florida Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

Benton-Meier Scholarships

Award: $2,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicants must demonstrate need and demonstrate potential for a promising career in the field of neuropsychology. Applicants should also submit a letter that documents their scholarly and research accomplishments, financial need and how the award will be used.

 

University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio - National Merit Scholarship

Applicants must be the sole authors and presenters of their projects, be members of ASIH, be full-time students or have completed a thesis or dissertation defense during the previous 12 months. Presentations are judged by introduction, methods, data analysis and interpretation, conclusions, presentation and visual aids.

 

Barry University Incentive Scholarship Program

Applicants must be undergraduate sophomores who are enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university and be majoring in engineering. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four-point scale and must have a demonstrated career interest in the iron and steel industry. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Beacon College Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

The Florida Incentive Scholarship Program is a merit scholarship for Florida high school graduates who receive recognition as a National Merit or National Achievement Scholars. The University of Texas - Pan American - National Merit Scholarship

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated The University of Texas - Pan American as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. STEEL Engineering Education Link Initiative

Applicants must commit to a paid summer internship at a North American steel company or industry supplier and must be a citizen of the United States, Canada or Mexico. Students must be enrolled full-time in a four-year undergraduate program at an accredited North American university. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate interest in the iron and steel industry.

 

Bethune-Cookman University Incentive Scholarship Program

Award: $8,000, Deadline: August 31

AIST Foundation Steel Research & Applications Grant

Award: $50,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicants are teams consisting of a qualified professor and undergraduate and graduate students. Teams will submit proposals for grant funding for research to benefit the steel industry and must be assisted by a steel industry representative currently employed with a steel producing company.
