Applicant must be a full-time student and one of the following: a United States citizen who is a non-Florida resident living in the United States or a United States territory or an eligible non-citizen (permanent resident).

 

Environmental Studies Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident who has a minimum 2.5 GPA and is currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university. Applicant must be enrolled in a degree program that will lead to an environmental career.

 

NSF Success Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be an incoming freshmen with a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1100 (composite ACT score of 24). Financial need of at least $5,000 (determined by FAFSA) is required. Applicant must major in chemistry, biochemistry, or biology with a chemistry minor.

Applicant must be a nominee from Mundelein High School in Mundelein, IL. Recipient will be selected based upon academic qualifications, extracurricular participation, community involvement, service commitment, recommendations from two faculty members, and submission of an essay entitled, "Alcohol and Driving: A Realistic Approach to Handling Friends Who Have Been Drinking."

 

First Scholarship

University Scholarship

Applicant must have outstanding academic and personal achievement. All first-time applicants who meet the scholarship criteria will be considered.

 

Michelson-Moreley STEM Scholarship

Applicant must be an exceptional student who indicates an interest in majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. All first-time undergraduate applicants who meet the scholarship criteria will be considered.

 

Computer Science Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1050; award is merit-based. Major in computer science and/or business is required.

 

English Communications Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1050; award is merit-based. Applicant must be a full-time student majoring in English communications.

 

MCL Transfer Presidential Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA, have earned an associate's degree, and live in on-campus housing.

 

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Acadia Excellence Scholarship (Entrance)

Applicant must be an entering student who has a minimum 80% average. Award amount is dependent upon grade 12 admission average.

 

Merit-Based Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a student who has applied to the university by December 1st with a minimum 3.5 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200. A student meeting this criteria does not guarantee that they will receive an award. Some awards will depend on major selected, geographical location, and financial need.

 

Tourism Cares - Dr. William C. Wright Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant needs to be planning a career in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry who can demonstrate leadership qualities. Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student entering their junior or senior year in good standing enrolled in a hospitality-related program of study with the University of Houston's Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

NTA North America Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a permanent citizen or resident of the United States or Canada, as an undergraduate or graduate student (entering any year) in a travel-and-tourism or hospitality-related program of study at an accredited three-year or four-year college or university in the United States or Canada with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a U.S. 4.0 scale. Applicants from a three-year school will be entering third year in the fall of the calendar year of application, and will have completed a minimum 60 credit hours at the end of the semester or term. Applicants from a four-year school will be entering junior or senior year in the fall of the calendar year and will have completed a minimum 60 or 90 hours respectively at the end of the semester or term. For a complete application, please submit a U.S. or Canadian passport as proof of citizenship, or U.S. or Canadian Alien Registration Card as proof of permanent residency, a resume, two evaluations and letters of recommendation (one professional and one academic), official transcript, and an essay. Essay topic: If undergraduate level student: Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. Applicant must be a Mississippi school teacher holding a valid alternate route educator's license, who is currently teaching full-time in a critical shortage geographical area or subject.
