Year 2000 C3=Chem-E-Car Competition

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 15

Applying team must design and construct a chemically-powered vehicle. Selection is based upon creativity, safety, and ability to carry specified cargo and travel the correct distance.

 

Wrestling Scholarship

Board of Governors Scholarship

Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Bursary

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 15

Selection is based upon academic merit and financial need. Whenever possible, seven awards will be given to male students, seven to female students, and at least one award to an aboriginal student. Six awards are available for chemical/petroleum engineering, six for geology/geophysice, and three for management. Award is in Canadian dollars.

 

National Student Design Competition

Award: $600, Deadline: June 4

Applicants (individuals or teams) must solve a designated chemical engineering design problem involving skills in calculation and evaluation of both technical data and economic factors.

 

Senator Stan Waters Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: July 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA and demonstrate academic merit, leadership in student government or student activities (preferably with a business and/or political direction), and involvement in scholastic or extracurricular activities that promote the development of superior communication skills. Applicant must be a Canadian citizen with a minimum 2.6 GPA who was raised in a single-parent family. Selection is based upon financial need and academic merit.

 

Canadian Purchasing Research Foundation Scholarship

Donald F. Othmer Sophomore Academic Excellence Award

Applicant must be an AIChE student member and have achieved the highest GPA in his or her AIChE chapter during his or her freshman and sophomore years.

 

Donald F. & Mildred Topp Othmer National Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be an AIChE student member. Selection is based upon academic achievement and involvement in AIChE chapter activities.

 

Anthony Thibaudeau Undergraduate Bursary

William A. McGillivray Gold Medial in Law

Awarded to the student with the highest aggregate standing during the three years of study in the faculty. Award is in Canadian dollars.

 

Frederick and Marguerite Hulme Scholarship

Applicant must be entering the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Management in the joint LL.B./M.Bus.Admin. program. Selection is based upon academic merit and financial need. Recipient must be enrolled full time during tenure of award.

 

F. Richard Matthews Q.C. Scholarship

Award: $4,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a B.Comm graduate of the Faculty of Management and have an accounting concentration or CA designation. Selection is based upon academic merit. If no suitable candidate is found, then a student entering the faculty who is a graduate of the Faculty of Management will be considered.

 

Donald P. McLaws Prize

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have completed Contracts and Property plus three of the following: Banking and Bills of Exchange; Business Association; Tax Law and Policy; Personal Property Security; Natural Resources; Corporate Finance and Securities. Applicant must have high aggregate standing in the above courses. Award is in Canadian dollars.

 

Murray W. Waterman Architectural Award

Award: $6,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be in the M.Arch. program or other professional program and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Normally seven awards are for studies leading to the M.Arch. degree and one for post-professional studies in architecture. Award is in Canadian dollars.

 

Murray W. Waterman Study Abroad Award

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum grade average of "B" in studio courses taken the previous year. Applicant must be undertaking study in a formal term-long program outside Canada. Award is in Canadian dollars.

 

National Student Paper Competition

Applicant must submit a paper; winners of AIChE regional competitions compete for award.

 

Regional Student Paper Competition

Washington Internship for Students in Engineering

Award: $1,400, Deadline: December 31

Applicant must be entering the final year of undergraduate study. Selection is based upon academic record, essay, extracurricular activities, and interest in public policy.

 

Ted Peterson Student Paper Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must submit published work on the application of computing and systems technology to chemical engineering. The work must have been published while applicant was pursuing graduate or undergraduate studies.
