To qualify an applicant must be a Florida state resident and U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen; complete the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA); receive a standard Florida high school diploma or its equivalent; not have been convicted of a felony; be accepted by and enroll in a degree or certificate program; and be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per term. Applicants must have studied for at least five years one or more of the Chinese martial arts including Kung Fu, Wu Shu or Tai Chi. Selection is based on achievement in academics and martial arts, recommendations, work experience, educational and career goals and leadership in school and community activities.
