Applicants must be U.S. citizens and California or Hawaii residents who have a physical, neurological, visual or hearing impairment or a speech/language disorder. They must be high school seniors or graduates or have passed the GED or California High School Proficiency Examination.

Applicants must be members of the East Coast surfing community. Rising high school seniors, current undergraduate college students and returning students may apply regardless of age. Two letters of recommendation and a 500-word essay are required. Previous applicants and winners may reapply each year.

Graeme Clark Scholarship

Applicants must have received a Nucleus cochlear implant. They may be high school seniors, current college students or students who have been accepted into an institution of higher learning. Students must pursue a minimum of a three-year undergraduate degree at an accredited university. Criteria for selection include academic achievement and commitment to leadership and humanity. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for all applicants.

 

Abilene Christian University - National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 5

Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated Abilene Christian University as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Harry Alan Gregg Foundation Grants

Award: $1,200, Deadline: March 9; June 8; September 7; December 7

Applicants must be New Hampshire residents with physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities or their families. Funds may be used for a variety of purposes but must benefit the person with a disability. Selection is based on need. Applications are reviewed four times a year, with deadlines in March, June, September and December.

Applicants must be between 19 and 27 years of age and be college sophomores or juniors with at least 60 credits completed toward their degrees. They must be enrolled in a four-year degree program at a Coast Guard-approved institution with at least a 25 percent minority population. Students must be U.S. citizens, have a 2.5 or higher GPA and meet all physical requirements of the Coast Guard. Applicants must have a minimum score of 1100 on the SAT, 23 on the ACT or 109 on the ASVAB.
