Eighth Annual Scholarship Competition

Award: $15,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a high school senior who plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in graphic design, computer animation, or web design/development. Three to five landscape, still life, or life drawings must be submitted. One full undergraduate scholarship will be awarded; partial scholarships ($15,000 and $20,000 respectively) will also be awarded.

 

Viral Video Scholarship Contest

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must create a public service announcement video on about the effects of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Contest is a community service project that helps educate the public on safe driving practices.

 

America's Best Blogging Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 3

Applicant must be an incoming freshman or current college student who writes a blog post answering a prompt question that can be found on the sponsor's site. Selection will be based on blogger's creativity.

 

Mediacom World Class Scholarship Program

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a legal resident of a community being served by the North Central Division of Mediacom who is a high school senior or graduate planning to attend a qualified post-secondary institution. Selection based on academic achievement and leadership.

 

Third Marine Division Association Memorial Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a dependent, unmarried child of an Association member, or of any military personnel who served in any 3d Marine Division (Rein) unit and lost their lives as a result of combat actions in the operations known as Desert Shield and Desert Storm and any other Southwest Asia operations after August 2, 1990. Applicant must attend a college or university in the United States or Canada. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of a participating American Mensa Local Group's area enrolled in a degree program at an accredited U.S. college or university. Essay is required.

 

Military Family Support Trust Scholarship

Award: $12,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a high school senior who is able to demonstrate superior leadership skills and possess moral/character attributes. Minimum ACT score of 21 (1500 SAT reasoning score) and minimum 3.0 GPA required. Recommendation from principal also required.

 

Major General Joseph D. and Christine F. Caldara Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a high school senior who is able to demonstrate superior leadership skills and possess moral/character attributes. Minimum ACT score of 21 (1500 SAT reasoning score) and minimum 3.0 GPA required. Recommendation from principal also required.

 

National Pathfinder Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a female college sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student.

 

Betty Rendel Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a female undergraduate student who has successfully completed at least two years of college course work and is majoring in political science, government or economics.

 

Dorothy Andrews Kabis Memorial Internship

Applicant must be female, at least a junior in college or a college student 21 years of age or older, with a general knowledge of government, a keen interested in politics, campaign experience, and sufficient clerical office skills.

 

Navin Narayan College Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior planning to attend a four-year college or university and has served a minimum of two years as a Red Cross volunteer.

 

Andrew Piech Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a legal resident of New Mexico who will be attending a nonprofit or public educational institution in an automotive technology program. Essay and a letter of recommendation are required.

 

Barnes W. Rose, Jr. and Eva Rose Nichol Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a graduate of Albuquerque High School who demonstrates financial need and will attend a college or university in pursuit of a degree in one of the STEM majors (science, technology, engineering and math). Essay, reference from a math/science teacher, and minimum 3.6 cumulative GPA required.

 

Bryan Cline Memorial Soccer Scholarship Program

Applicant must be an Eldorado High School varsity soccer team graduating senior who will attend a nonprofit or public college or university full-time.

 

Carl F. Scott Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a full-time student enrolled in an approved two- or four-year nonprofit or public secondary educational institution. Applicant must meet one of the following requirements: biological child, stepchild, or adopted child of a member in good standing of Tucumcari Lodge No. 27, AF & AM; member in good standing of Tucumcari Assembly No. 4, Rainbow Girls or graduate of a Quay County High School. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Excel Staffing Companies Scholarships for Excellence in Continuing Education

Applicant must reside or work in Bernalillo, Eddy, Sandoval, Valencia, or Santa Fe counties in New Mexico, and work a minimum of 20 hours per week.

 

Youth in Foster Care Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a New Mexico resident for a minimum of one year who has been in the New Mexico foster care system for a minimum one year at the time of their 18th birthday. Minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA or successful completion of a GED program required.

 

Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque Scholarship Program

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 13

Applicant must be a graduating senior with strong community service experience and strong academic records from an Albuquerque metro area high school (including Rio Rancho, East Mountain and Los Lunas/Belen schools). Applicant must attend a nonprofit or public educational institute full-time. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and minimum ACT composite score of 20 required.

 

James Ledwith Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who demonstrates the choice of: hope, faith and courage; thoughtfulness and service to others; living life, pursuing dreams, and enabling one's self. Applicant must attend a non-profit or public institution.

 

New Mexico Manufactured Housing Association Scholarship Program

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 13

Applicant must live in a mobile/manufactured home and plan to attend a two- or four-year nonprofit or public educational institution or university full time. Essay and minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Notah Begay III Scholarship Program

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 13

Applicant must be a Native American scholar-athlete who graduated from a New Mexico High School, and will attend a community college or four-year non-profit or public educational institute full time. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Robby Baker Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a senior graduating from La Cueva High School who has a language learning or other reading disability and who plans to attend a nonprofit or public education institution. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Woodcock Family Education Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a student with strong math and/or science credentials who will attend a nonprofit or public institution full time. Minimum ACT composite score of 30 (SAT Reasoning math score of 600) and minimum 3.8 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Amarillo Garden Club Scholarship

Applicant must be a female student, residing in the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who is a junior or senior attending Texas Tech University or West Texas A&M University with a major in horticulture. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Amarillo Handgunners Association - The Bill Goodson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be an American citizen, residing in one of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who is a graduating senior engaged in or sincerely interested in a shooting sport or activity. Minimum grade average of "C" during school year (2.0 GPA while attending college/university) required.

 

Association of Information Technology Professionals Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle, who will be or is currently attending West Texas A&M University or Amarillo College and majoring in computer information systems. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

The Senator Teel Bivins Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior in a public or private school in Senate District 31 taking Advanced Placement/Honors curriculum. Leadership and community service must be demonstrated. Applicant must major in the field of education at any Texas college or university. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

The A.A. and Hattie Mae Bush Accounting Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior or currently enrolled college student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, or currently attending Amarillo College, Texas Tech University or West Texas A&M University and majoring in accounting. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Dallam County 4-H Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Dallam County, who will have attended a minimum of half of 4-H club meetings during their senior year, was enrolled in 4-H for four years, completed at least one project per year, submitted 4-H recordbook during the last four years, and has had 4-H involvement in Citizenship, Leadership and Community Service. Priority given to 4-H Gold Star award recipients. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.
