Languages in Teacher Education Scholarships

Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or individuals lawfully admitted to Canada for permanent residence. Applicants must be registered full-time in their final two years of a recognized teacher preparation program at an Alberta faculty of education.

 

Rickey Physics Scholarship

Applicant must be majoring in physics and be able to show exceptional academic achievement.

 

Transfer Scholarship

Applicants must be Alberta residents and plan to enroll full time in a post-secondary program related to agriculture, engineering/trades or fine arts. Applicants must have completed Grade 12 at Sexsmith Secondary School.

 

Alumni Legacy Grant

Applicant must be a child or grandchild of an alumnus/ae.

 

Dr. Ernest and Minnie Mehl Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicants must be a Canadian citizens or landed immigrants who has completed grade 12 in Alberta at a school that follows the Alberta Education Curriculum. Applicant must be continuing their studies at a degree granting post-secondary institution in Canada. University transfer programs are acceptable.

 

Language Teacher Bursary Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or individual lawfully admitted to Canada for permanent residence and residents of Alberta, hold a valid Alberta professional teaching certificate, and have been teaching in Alberta for a minimum of three years by the end of the current school year. Applicant must demonstrate a background in language learning, or have recently initiated the study of this language, plan to take a summer program of at least four weeks duration in a language/language teaching methodology other than English or related field at an institution outside of Canada, and have not previously been awarded a Language Teacher Bursary.

 

Ardath Louise Fogelsanger History Scholarship

Applicant must be an upper division major who demonstrates a love for and dedication to the study of history and is selected through a nomination process.

 

Trustee Scholarship

Award: $17,000, Deadline: March 2

Applicant must be a student attending Dominican University of California with a high school GPA of 3.8 or higher and strong SAT scores. Selection is based upon academic merit, leadership, school involvement, and community service.

 

International Student Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate academic achievement and/or financial need. Minimum 2.75 GPA (3.0 graduate) required.

 

Dean's Scholarship

Award: $11,500, Deadline: March 2

Applicant must be a student attending Dominican University of California. Selection is based upon academic merit, leadership, school involvement, and community service. Applicant's high-school GPA should be 2.7 or greater with strong SAT scores.

 

Accountancy Advisory Board Endowment

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a student of record accepted into the accounting program at Eastern Illinois University. Minimum 3.2 GPA required.

 

Dominican Grant

Applicant must be a student attending Dominican University of California and be able to demonstrate financial need.

 

Community Scholar Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be in the top half of their high school graduating class. Guidance counselors within each eligible high school located in metropolitan areas surrounding DeVry campuses annually nominate one student from their respective high school for this award.

 

ALANA Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 2

Applicant must be a student at Dominican University of California and be able to demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be of African American, Native American, Latino, or Asian ethnicity.

 

Counseling Psychology Fellowship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: July 1 (fall); December 1 (spring)

Applicant must be a student attending Dominican University of California enrolled in the Graduate Counseling Psychology program. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Guzman Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 2

Applicant must be a transfer student attending Dominican University of California.

 

Dominican Graduate Grant

Award: $3,000, Deadline: July 1 (fall); December 1 (spring)

Applicant must be a full-time student at Dominican University of California on the San Rafael campus.

 

Dean's Scholarship for International Students

Application highlighting leadership skills, community involvement, and strong academics is required to be submitted.

 

South Carolina Lottery Tuition Assistance Program

FAFSA is required. Applicant must be a South Carolina resident who is enrolled as a degree-seeking student in a minimum of six credit hours each term. Applicant must not owe a refund or repayment on any State or Federal financial aid and not be in default on a Federal student loan.

 

South Carolina HOPE Scholarship

Award: $2,800, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a first-time entering freshman who is a full-time student attending an eligible four-year institution in South Carolina. Applicant must not owe a refund or repayment on any State or Federal financial aid and not be in default on a Federal student loan; must have never been convicted of any felonies and have not been convicted of any second or subsequent alcohol/drug-related misdemeanor offenses within the past academic year.

 

Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS) FFEL Program Loans

Applicant must be an undergraduate student in need of financial assistance who has natural, adoptive, or legal guardians. Credit check is required.

 

Stafford Loans: Federal Family Education Loan Program

Award: $5,500, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident. FAFSA is required. Amount of loan is income-dependent, but does not require a credit check.

 

HOPE & PROMISE Teacher Scholarship Loans

Applicant must be a student looking to teach in a critical shortage field in Georgia (determined by the Georgia Student Finance Commission).

 

Legacy Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1720 (minimum composite ACT score of 25) and a minimum cumulative 3.5 high school GPA.

 

Transfer Academic Scholarship

Applicant must be a new transfer student with a minimum 3.5 GPA and 30+ semester transfer credits, or a minimum 3.0 college GPA and minimum 3.5 high school GPA for those with less than 30 credits.

 

Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health, Child Welfare, and Juvenile Justice Workforce Tuition Assistance Program

Applicant must be Maryland resident enrolled at a two- or four-year Maryland college or university as a full-time student. Applicant must enroll in a human services degree program. Award is not based on need.
