Applicant must be an entering full-time, first-year student. Selection based upon secondary school GPA, SAT Reasoning/ACT scores and class rank. Award amount varies by scholarship.

 

Art Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: None

Applicant must have a strong commitment to the creative process both in making art and in looking at historical and contemporary works of art. Portfolio review is required.

 

Competition Scholarship

Applicant must be a first-year student who is a winner of Scholarship Competition Day. Minimum 3.2 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1030 (composite ACT score of 22) required.

 

Flight Safety International Instrument Refresher Course Scholarship

Applicant must be a Whirly-Girl in good standing and possess an Instrument Rating Helicopter to apply. Course consists of 12 hours of academic training, six hours of simulator instruction and will be conducted at the Flight Safety Learning Center in Hurst, Texas.

 

Valedictorian Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school valedictorian who did not win any other Hope College-sponsored merit-based academic scholarships.

 

Henry Wells Scholarship

Awarded to applicants who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement throughout their high school experience. Selection is made by the Admissions Committee; recipients generally have a 3.9 GPA in academic subject areas.

 

Leaven International Student Scholarship

Applicant must be an international student, have a minimum TOEFL score of 530, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be active in high school or college community.

 

Athletic Award

Applicant must be a full-time student involved in varsity athletics.

 

Diocesan Youth Involvement Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 2.25 GPA and be a member of the Catholic Youth Organization.

 

Catholic College Tuition Waiver

Applicant must be a dependent of a full-time Kansas Catholic college employee.

 

Catholic School Tuition Waiver

Applicant must be an employee, or dependent or spouse of an employee, of a Kansas Catholic school.

 

Alumni Grant

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be the dependent of an alumni.

 

Family Grant

Applicant should be enrolled full time and have at least one family member also enrolled full time.

 

Renew Grant

Applicant should be a first-time Newman U student who has been out of high school at least three years and has a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Applicant must have minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 21 (combined SAT I score of 990). Transfer applicants must have minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum 24 credit hours.

 

Dean's Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.3 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 23 (combined SAT I score of 1060). Transfer applicant must have completed a minimum 24 credit hours and have a minimum 3.3 GPA.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.6 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 25 (combined SAT I score of 1140). Transfer applicant must have a minimum 3.6 GPA and at least 24 credit hours.

 

National Merit Finalist and Semifinalist Award

Applicant must be a National Merit finalist or semifinalist.

 

Sacred Heart Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.8 GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 28, or have a minimum combined SAT I score of 1240. Essay, evidence of community involvement, and letter of recommendation required. Finalists must have on-campus interview.
