Applicant must be a woman who is an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in accounting at an accredited school within the state of Washington.

 

Washington Council of the Blind Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: August 15

Applicant must be a legally blind Washington resident who is attending an institution of higher learning in the United States.

 

NFB of Washington Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: September 5

Applicant must be legally blind in both eyes and a Washington state resident who is pursuing a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree. Essay, transcripts, and three letters of recommendation required.

 

Washington NASA Space Grant Community College Transfer Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and resident of Washington state who is pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics and will be transferring to the University of Washington.

 

American Justice Video Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior who is a resident of Washington State. Required to create an original Public Service Announcement (PSA) video between 30 and 60 seconds.

 

WSAJ Presidents' Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 14

Applicant must be a high school senior who has overcome an obstacle to achieve academically and socially. Must be a resident of Washington State. Academic achievement, financial need, commitment to helping people, and a history of achievement despite having been a victim of injury, disability, handicap, or a similar challenge must be demonstrated. Letter, transcripts, two references, and financial statement required.

 

LGBTQ Scholarship

Applicant must be a current or future leader in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ), and straight ally community from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington pursuing a post secondary education. Letter of recommendation and copy of transcript required. Resume and portfolio are optional.

 

BLET Auxiliary Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be the children of both a BLET Auxiliary and BLET member (living or deceased) and enrolled or accepted by an accredited university, college or institute of higher learning. If the applicant is a graduate student or returning to school as a sophomore, junior or senior, he or she must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based on academic record, leadership, character and personal achievement.

 

Costco Scholarship Fund

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are African American, Latino or Native American. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in high school and register to be full-time students at Seattle University or the University of Washington.

 

Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 28

Applicants must be from Western Washington, plan to attend an accredited independent school that is primarily not tax-funded and have a minimum SAT score of 1200. Students must submit a FAFSA form and demonstrate financial need.

 

Opportunity Grant

Applicants must be adult students with financial need who are attending a community or technical college and who have a minimum 2.0 GPA. The grant provides funding for up to 45 credits over a maximum of three years and up to $1,000 for books and supplies per year. In addition, there are support services such as tutoring, career advising, emergency transportation and emergency child care.

 

Northwest Danish Association Scholarships

Applicants must be residents of or enrolled in accredited schools in Oregon or Washington. Applicants must also be NWDA members (or have a family membership if under 18 years of age). Through travel, field of study, study abroad, heritage or life experience, applicants must clearly be able to illustrate their connection to Denmark. The NWDA scholarship must be used in seeking an academic degree, vocational degree, re-training for employment or training for an career in the arts. Those who have participated in NWDA activities or programs will be given preference.

 

Washington BPW Foundation Mature Woman Educational Scholarship

Applicants must be female students age 30 or older who are pursuing retraining or continuing education. Students must be U.S. citizens and Washington state residents for at least two years and must be accepted into a program at an accredited Washington State institution of higher learning or enrolled in an accredited online program from a Washington State school. They must demonstrate scholastic ability and financial need.
