Out of State Grant

Award: $2,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a full-time student and one of the following: a United States citizen who is a non-Florida resident living in the United States or a United States territory or an eligible non-citizen (permanent resident).

 

Michael A. Demayo Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 24

Applicant must be a current high school (or home-schooled) senior with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA who attends school and lives in the following counties of North Carolina: Mecklenburg, Gaston, Catawba, Union, Cabarrus, Cleveland, Lincoln, Rowan, Caldwell, Stanly, Iredell, Alexander, Burke, Robeson, Scotland, Richmond, Anson and Cumberland; or South Carolina: York, Lancaster, Chesterfield, Marlboro and Dillon. Applicant must be accepted for full-time enrollment or be planning to pursue a degree at an accredited four-year college or university. NACA Southeast Student Leadership Scholarships

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a college or university within the former NACA Southeast region (AL, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA and PR) and have made significant contributions to the community or campus.

 

The Chris Ebbers Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: December 4

Applicant must be a South Carolina resident enrolled in an accredited occupational therapy educational program in South Carolina at the professional or associate degree level.

 

Zack and Rachel Clarkson Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference will be given to applicants demonstrating financial need and African-American male students who are graduating from Lower Richland High School and reside in the Lower Richland area.

 

James A. Broome Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Richland County, SC high school who is a member of a Key Club sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Columbia and will attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

 

Daughters of the Holy Cross - Sara Hempley Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a resident of South Carolina attending an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

First Choice Member Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a current First Choice member enrolling in an accredited post-secondary institution. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Handel-Carter Assistance Fund Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be living in a residence operated by St. Lawrence Place, the Women's Shelter, or Habitat for Humanity of Central South Carolina.

 

William S. and Elizabeth B. Heath Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be an employee or dependent of an employee of the former Carolina Coca-Cola Bottling Company who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Dr. Robert Howard/WHS Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School who will attend Claflin or South Carolina State University. Financial need and minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Estelle Jones Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a graduate from a Richland County high school who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Estelle Jones Non-Traditional Students Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a resident of Richland County School District One who holds a GED equivalent and will attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

LinkScholars Program

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be an African American graduate of a Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington, Richland or Sumter County high school entering their freshman year at an accredited post-secondary institution in South Carolina. Minimum 2.9 GPA and 900 SAT score required.

 

Grace Brooks and E. Perry Palmer Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a graduate from a high school in the Community Foundation's 11-county service area who will pursue a degree in Philosophy and Religion at Claflin University, or a postgraduate seminary degree at an accredited institution. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Pierce/Zimmerman Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a dependent of a qualified employee of the Facilities Management Division at South Carolina State University who will attend SCSU. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Rogers and Meredith College Fund

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior or high school graduate who is the dependent of an active employee of Consolidated Systems, Inc. and will attend a post-secondary institution. Minimum 2.25 GPA required.

 

Bobbi Rossi Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a current student in the Upper Division of the College of Nursing at the University of South Carolina. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Louetta Slice Scholarship Fund

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a resident of the Greater Chapin area of Ballentine, Chapin, Little Mountain, Peak, Prosperity or White Rock, SC who is 21 years of age or older and will attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

The Smart Matters Scholarship Fund

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must have attended one of the Smart Matters schools: A.C. Moore, Arden, Bradley, Burton-Pack, Caughman, Lewis-Greenview, Meadowfield, Mill Creek, Pine Grove, or South Kilbourne Elementary and will attend a post-secondary institution. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

H. Eugene Webb, Jr. Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Columbia High School who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need and minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Robert E. McNair Scholarship

Applicant must be a South Carolina resident who has been admitted to the university prior to the scholarship deadline and has a dedication to public service. Minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1100 (composite ACT score of 24) required. Two original essays and two letters of recommendation must be submitted.

 

Education Fellow Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 28

Applicant must be a member of a Teacher Cadet program in South Carolina. On-campus interview, minimum 3.0 GPA, and minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1100 (composite ACT score of 24) required.

 

Newberry Community Leadership Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a resident of the City of Newberry who has demonstrated outstanding academic potential, personal leadership, and a commitment to civic responsibility, volunteerism, and community service. Nomination and letter of recommendation; original essay on his/her leadership and civic interests and intentions while attending the College; resume of prior leadership, civic, and volunteer activities required.
