Research topics should involve historical questions and should relate to the collections in the Hagley Library. Fellows will receive housing, office space, a computer and Internet access. They must have plans to enroll in an ABET-accredited engineering program in the fall following high school graduation. They must have a minimum SAT verbal score of 500, a minimum SAT math score of 600 and a minimum SAT writing score of 500. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

Applicants must be current full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate level college students who are pursuing a curriculum related to the construction industry and reside or attend college in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Delaware. Students must have completed one full year of academic studies and have a minimum of one full year of studies remaining.
