Last Dollar Grant

Award: $3,000, Deadline: July 1

Applicants must be new graduates of Baltimore City public high schools, have family income of no more than $75,000 per year and contribute at least 15 percent of their college costs through self-help. Students must attend Bowie State University, Coppin State University, Frostburg State University, Morgan State University, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Towson University, University of Maryland College Park, University of Maryland Eastern Shore or Villa Julie College. Applicants must also attend the Transition to College Workshop and the Annual Scholars' Luncheon and other program events scheduled throughout the year. The Student Aid Report, college acceptance letters, financial aid award letter and transcript are required. The grant is given to students whose Expected Family Contribution and financial aid package are less than the cost to attend college. The award is renewable up to five years.

 

Holy Names University - California Dream Act

Colorado Masons Benevolent Fund Scholarships

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicants must be graduating seniors from a Colorado public high school planning to attend a Colorado postsecondary institution. Selection is based on leadership, maturity, need and scholastic ability without reference to race, creed, color, sex or Masonic relationship.

 

Community Banker Association of Illinois Annual Essay Scholarship Program

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must write essays and be sponsored by a participating CBAI member bank. There is an essay topic related to community banking, and the short essays are judged on understanding of community banking philosophy, accurate information, clear and concise sentences, logical organization, proper grammar, correct punctuation and spelling and conclusion/summary.

 

John F. Kennedy University - California Dream Act

Applicants must have been registered on a Dixie Youth Baseball team participating in a franchised Dixie Youth Baseball Inc. league prior to reaching age thirteen. Selection is based on financial need, scholastic record and citizenship. Programs are located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Masonic Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must be pursuing a post-secondary education in any state at an institution which provides a two-year or four-year college program or vocational training. They do not need to have a Masonic connection. Selection is based on academic record, communication skills and financial need, but the most important is service to school and community with an emphasis on leadership roles. Finalists will be asked to appear before the committee for personal interviews.

North Carolina 4-H Development Fund Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must be enrolling as undergraduates at a four-year North Carolina college or university or a junior or community college in the state, provided the program of study is transferable to a four-year college. Students must also have a strong record of 4-H Club participation, have an excellent high school academic record and show an aptitude for college work through SAT scores. An application form, transcript, photo page and two recommendation letters are required. For some of the awards, financial need is necessary. Some awards have geographic restrictions to regions of the state while others are for a degree program or a specific college or university. Some scholarships are renewable.

Applicants must plan to pursue undergraduate studies at a college or university. An application, financial statement, two recommendation letters, proof of baseball participation, transcript and essay are required. Selection is based on class rankings, strong school and community leadership and financial need. Programs are located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors and Hawaii residents. Applicants must also demonstrate scholastic achievement, participation in activities and have been accepted into an accredited institution. Community service and financial need are also considered.

 

California Maritime Academy - California Dream Act

Applicants must attend a California high school for a minimum of three years; or attain credits equivalent to three or more years of high school coursework and a combination of three or more years at a California elementary or secondary school. Students must be residents of Montana who have been accepted to an eligible institution of higher learning in the state. Students must also have a minimum GPA of 3.0, SAT score of 20 or higher or SAT score of 1440 and be enrolled in a certificate, associate or bachelor's degree program.

 

Montana University System Honor Scholarship

Applicants must have a 3.4 or higher GPA, meet specific college preparatory requirements and have been enrolled in an accredited Montana high school for at least three years prior to graduation, including their senior year. Applicants must be residents of Montana who are entering college as freshmen and seeking their first certificate or undergraduate degree. Students must be accepted by an eligible Montana campus and must take the ACT/SAT by December 31st of the student?s senior year of high school. Applicants must obtain a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 or score at least 20 on the ACT or 1440 on the SAT.
