John A. Macphee Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October

Applicant must be in the Recreation and Leisure Studies Department. Selection is based upon academic achievement and professional promise.

 

James A. Suffridge Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 15

Scholarships are limited to members who have been active since January 1, 2009 and their unmarried children or dependents under the age of 20.

 

Frank Elkins Memorial Award

Award: $800, Deadline: April 11

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate involvement in co-curricular activities, and be graduating in May.

 

Corporate and Business Partners Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must demonstrate extracurricular involvement and leadership in church, hospital, or community organizations.

 

Charles VanArsdale Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must pre-major in the school of business and demonstrate academic excellence and potential for success in business and entrepreneurism.

 

National Merit Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a high school student who has entered the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) no later than the third year in grades 9-12, regardless of grade classification or educational pattern; be enrolled full-time as a high school student, progressing normally toward graduation or completion of high school, and planning to enroll full-time in college no later than the fall following completion of high school.

 

WPI/Allaire Future Engineering Leadership Scholarship

Preference is given to a FIRST Robotics Challenge or FIRST Vex Challange participant who is Native American, African American, Hispanic, and/or female.

 

Mary Jo Young AP Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Kentucky and demonstrate competency in prerequisite content. Priority given to low-income students, minorities, students with disabilities and students in low-performing schools.

 

Alton Cole Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 25. First preference is given to a speech/theatre major. Applicant must submit a letter addressing educational and career goals and community service.

 

Dale C. Bailey Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled in a four-year program at the West Virginia University Institute of Technology. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Freshmen Academic Scholarship

Award: $12,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must rank in the top quarter of class and have a minimum 3.45 GPA and a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1100 (composite ACT score of 24).

North Carolina Restaurant Association Hospitality Scholarship

Applicant must either be a high school senior, community college student, university student or graduate student pursuing hospitality and tourism. Up to 10 High School Students' Scholarships, up to five Two-Year Program Scholarships, up to five Four-Year Program Scholarships, and up to four Graduate Student Scholarships will be awarded.
