Applicant must rank in the top fifth of secondary school class and have a combined SAT Reasoning or composite ACT score in the top quarter. Applicant must be a resident of and must have graduated from a high school in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, or Summit counties, Ohio.
Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15
Applicant must be a resident and high school graduate of Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Portage, Summit, Medina, or Lorain Counties (OH). Applicant must rank in the top 20% of class, score in the upper 25th percentile on SAT Reasoning or ACT, and demonstrate financial need.
Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 31
Applicant must be a graduate from a high school in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Huron, Erie, Wood, Geauga, Sandusky, Ottawa, or Lucas Counties who is enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior at an Ohio college or university. Applicant must be majoring in a field relevant to the newspaper industry, particularly journalism, advertising, marketing, or a communications degree program. Minimum 3.0 GPA and college transcript required.
Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1
Applicant must be a Northeast Ohio high school senior in good standing. Two letters of reference (from non-family members), valid proof of intent to attend college, demonstration of community involvement, and a two-page essay offering a solution to one of applicant's community's environmental challenges are required.
Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 1
Applicant must be a Greater Cleveland area resident who is a full-time student enrolled in a marketing or sales discipline at an Ohio college or university. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
