Applicant must be a National Merit Finalist who has designated University of Dallas as his or her first-choice institution when completing the scholarship application. Applicants may change their top-choice selection by logging onto the Online Scholarship Application (OSA) website. Applicant must take the PSAT/NMSQT in the specified year of the high school program and no later than the third year in grades 9 through 12. Applicant must also be a citizen of the United States or be a U.S. lawful permanent resident.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be studying full-time at a two-year or four-year accredited college as an incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. Applicants must attend their chosen college for the full year during the year of receipt of the scholarship. The Bright Futures program consists of three different awards: Florida Academic Scholars (FAS), Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) and Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars (GSV). To qualify an applicant must be a Florida state resident and U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen; complete the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA); receive a standard Florida high school diploma or its equivalent; not have been convicted of a felony; be accepted by and enroll in a degree or certificate program; and be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per term. In addition, each of the above awards has specific minimum requirements for high school coursework, GPA, ACT/SAT scores, and service hours.
