Robert R. Robinson Scholarship

Applicant must be a junior, senior, or graduate student enrolled in a Michigan college or university who is pursuing a degree in public administration and considering a career in local government administration. Recipient will be selected from nominees submitted by a Michigan township board that is a member of good standing in the Michigan Townships Association.

Gerhard D. Zeller Native America: Community of Nations Scholarship

Applicant must be of Native American descent or demonstrates a commitment to Native American culture and issues, enrolled as a full-time student and submit an essay.

 

Florida Individual Artist Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a legal resident of Florida and maintain residency while receiving fellowship. Applicant must be a professional creative artist at least 18 years of age. Applicant must not have received a monetary fellowship award from the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs in the last five years.

Samsung American Legion Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 10

Applicant must be a high school junior participating in and completing either an American Legions Boys State or American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program and must be a direct descendant or legal adopted child or a U.S. veteran who served on active duty during a time of war.

 

Anna Gear Junior Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a current Junior member of the American Legion Auxiliary and held membership for the past three years and be a senior in an accredited Virginia high school. Applicant must have a minimum of 30 hours of volunteer community service, submit four letters of recommendation, and a 500-word essay titled "The Value of Volunteering in the Community."

 

Non-traditional Student Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 10

Applicant must be a member of the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of the American Legion and have paid dues for the past two years. Applicant must be a non-traditional student returning to school after interruption of formal education or a student has had at least one year of college and is in need of financial assistance. Recipients of the Legion Auxiliary Spirit of Youth Scholarship are not eligible. Selection is based on academic acheivement, character/leadership, and initiative/goals.

 

Spirit of Youth Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 10

Applicant must be a Junior member of the American Legion Auxiliary and have held a membership for the past three years. Applicant must be a senior in an accredited high school with good character and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based on Americanism, character, leadership, and scholastic achievement.

 

National President's Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 10

Applicant must be a senior in high school and the child of a veteran who served during eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion. Selection is based on Americanism, character, financial need, leadership, and scholastic achievement.

 

Girl Scout Achievement Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 13

Applicant must have received the Girl Scout Gold Award, reached Cadette or Senior Scout level, be an active member in her religious institution and must have received the appropriate religious emblem or award. Applicant must submit a minimum of four letters of recommendation and demonstrate practical citizenship in her religious institution, school, scout troop, and community.

 

Valedictorian Scholarship

Applicant must be the valedictorian of his or her Brewster High School, NY graduating class.

 

Salutatorian Scholarship
