Applicants must be U.S. citizens accepted to or attending a two- or four-year U.S. institution and have financial need. Applicants must currently be residents of Chicago, in active treatment for cancer and must be between the age of 15 and 30 at the time of application. Scholarship winners are required to organize and run a bone marrow registry drive with the support of Delete Blood Cancer and There Goes My Hero. A physician's verification is required. Selection is based on a letter of recommendation and the overall strength of the application.
