Applicant must be an incoming freshman student who is majoring in computer science or information technology and systems. Selection is based upon strength of curriculum and academic performance throughout high school, standardized test scores, supplemental essay, and interview with the dean and/or faculty from the School of Computer Science and Mathematics.
Award also includes the following: state-of-the-art PC laptop with cutting edge processor and graphic accelerator; opportunity to participate in high-level internships and applied research with Fortune 500 companies (IBM, Aetna, Pepsi, Verizon, etc.); special advising from the dean and key faculty in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics; mentors from IBM, Verizon, Aetna, and Pepsi leaders; and a two-semester course in game development.
