Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen and a legal resident of Illinois. Applicant must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a part-time basis as an undergraduate in a qualified teacher education program at an approved Illinois institution in a teacher shortage discipline. Preference is given to minority applicants.
Recipient must sign a contract promising to teach one year for each year of scholarship assistance or repay the money plus interest.
