Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and/or be born in the U.S., be a resident of Texas, be a graduating high school senior who will graduate at the end of the spring semester immediately following award, and have passed the TAAS Mastery/Exit Level exam. Applicant must have a minimum combined SAT I score of 900 (minimum composite ACT score of 20), rank in top quarter of high school class, be a member in good standing of Texas Association, FCCLA, plan to enroll in a Texas college or university, and participate in a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree. Applicant must indicate major and career planned and submit a typed narrative including importance of college education to applicant and specific career goals, a photograph, and three letters of personal reference.
Award is for four years.
