U.S. citizen is preferred; permanent resident will also be accepted. Applicant must be an African-American, Native American, Puerto Rican, Mexican-American, or other Hispanic-American, who has earned a bachelors degree through an ABET-accredited program, with a minimum 2.8 GPA.
Award may also be considered as an internship and stipend. Recipient must pursue master's degree in the same subject as bachelor's degree and must be free to accept 12 weeks of summer employment.

Renewable for up to three semesters (four quarters) if recipient maintains satisfactory academic progress and abides by GEM and employer guidelines.
