Applicants must be children, stepchildren, adopted children, spouses or unremarried widows or widowers of qualifying Kentucky veterans. The veteran must have died on active duty or as a result of a service-connected disability, be 100 percent disabled from service, be totally disabled with wartime service or be deceased and have served during wartime. Children of veterans must be 26 years of age or younger.
